    Saw this over at Webmasterworld

"...surfing the NYPost today and went into the sports section. Some incredibly annoying thing happened. In IE not Mozilla the toolbar layer was overwritten with their own toolbar. What are your thoughts on this? I personally find it invasive of my browser space at first I thought I had some form of spyware.

Here is a sample link to see it:
    http://www.nypost.com/sports/sports.shtml

Made by some wacky named company that claim they are a 'branded contextual toolbar that extends the capabilities of the browser while preserving all its functionality'"

Comments? I think this just reeks of something that many other sites might try. It seems to go away after you leave the site since I presume its all javascript based.

SP2 kicked it's a*s No toolbar here! Just the cool SP2 sound that something was blocked, and the popup blocker showed that things were blocked.

Figures I haven't quite braved the SP2 XP upgrade... granted I have yet to receive that alert that usually shows up. I will await another month in case any more patches at least.

A competing newspaper should do a story about the Post and it's choices here.

I bet enlightened techno-friendly newspapers would eat them alive. Are there any? Is USA Today one?

Anyone want to search the Post's archives and find an article they've published before that pointed out the invasions they are now guilty of committing themselves (love irony).

Maybe this is a job for Revenue magazine? Writing up the meaning of what the Post is doing here would help get the magazine noticed...

Bob Marley said "Stir it up" - maybe we should elect an eloquent member among us to submit a Letter to the Editor here:

Seeing the Gain download prompt at a newspaper of this stature is more than disappointing. It's disgusting!

Maybe Phillyburbs could interest his paper in doing a story.
