Creating Direct Links for Deals or Cities
To create your own custom link- the first thing you'll need is to pick up your PID from Commission Junction. Your PID can be found under Account->Website Settings->to the right of the URL of your Website.

Your PID is really helpful to keep around, so save it on a sticky note or somewhere else near or on your computer.

Anytime we post a link here on the Forum, it generally follows this pattern:
    HTML Code:
    http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-CJPID-10822373?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Egroupon%2Ecom%2F
    • This part of the above link is the basic building block for any CJ link. We'll call this our Source Link
      HTML Code:
      http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-CJPID-10822373?url=
    • For any example please be certain you insert your PID where it says CJPID
    • Encode any Groupon landing page and append it to the Source Link and you're good to go

How to Create a City Specific Link:

    1. To link directly to a City page on Groupon, visit Groupon.com, and choose your city. You should see something like this-
    HTML Code:
    http://www.groupon.com/odessa-midland
    2. You're going to want to encode that link and append it to the Source Link above. You can either use an encoding tool, or you can just manually encode it.

    : = %3A
    / = $2F
    . = %2E

    3. Your link will now look like this:
    HTML Code:
    http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-CJPID-10822373?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Egroupon%2Ecom%2Fodessa-midland
    4. Pop that behind a hyperlink, or shorten it to use on Facebook and Twitter, and you'll have a link directly to the city of your choice.

Create a Link to a Specific Deal

    1. Visit the Groupon Deal you are interested in. Click on the headline title, this will take you to the deal page. The URL for this page looks like this:
    HTML Code:
    http://www.groupon.com/deals/paper-moments-tacoma
    3. Again, encode that page using an encoding tool, or you can just manually encode it.

    4. When finished your link should look like this:
    HTML Code:
    http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-CJPID-10822373?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Egroupon%2Ecom%2Fdeals%2Fpaper-moments-tacoma
    5. Pop that behind a hyperlink, or shorten it to use on Facebook and Twitter, and you'll have a link directly to the deal of your choice.

Please leave any questions below or email specific questions to Julia at Groupon dot com or your personal contact.

    Thanks-

Question Does this work with touch site?
The links I generate are to the mobile site, does this method work here as well? If not, how would I direct link to specific deals at the mobile site?

    Thanks,
    Ben

    Mobile Link Issue
You see anything wrong with this? Doesn't seem to work...

    The original mobile URL:
    Code:
    http://touch.groupon.com/deals/fitorbit-chicago
The encoded URL with a bogus PID:
    Code:
    http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-CJPID-10822373?url=http%3A%2F%2Ftouch%2Egroupon%2Ecom%2Fdeals%2Ffitorbit-chicago

    Hi Beck-

Tested it twice (once on the computer-once on my phone) and it worked fine. If you are still having issues-let's take this off the forum and into emails that way we can dive into details.
