I will say Amen to that and I rarely use that word.

Wow, I hadn't been here for a while, come back and all these changes that have gone on here. lol

You are a guy with many talents. Reaaly am very impressed. Loved the song. You really are very talented! Don't know who the other ABW member was but the video was really done well, too. Did you do all that yourself?

Wish you all the best with it Have you always wanted to be a country singer or is this somethin recent?

    Thanks all

The ABW member? That's Liz from TeamLoxly that I'm caught flirting with in the pool room scene

Oddly enough, there are about 6 ABW members responsible for the song. I gave them credit at

    http://billykaymusic.com/news/

What parts did I do? I do all the vocals except the highest 4th harmony on the chorus, and all the instruments except the lead guitars

Did I always want to do country? No! I'm a New Yorker!

One of my casino hosts comped me to a show by Collin Raye - I'd never heard of him. But his songs moved me like no other. I looked around the audience, and everyone was moved.

I decided that that's what I wanted to do. If I can move a total stranger from North Dakota with a song... I'll die a happy man

Actually, one of the first fan mails I rec'd WAS from a woman in ND saying she thought I wrote one of the songs just for her! So I actually did what I set out to do already

    All My Best,
    Billy Kay

Congrats, Billy! It's a great song and both the song and the video are very well-produced. I can only imagine how much fun that was and how fulfilling this project must be for you now that it's done! Thanks for letting us know about it.

Love the song and dig that guitar! Have you considered sending the video link to Collin Raye along with your story? Am a big fan of country music and my wife treated me to Lady Antebellum last week. Would love to see your song recorded and on CMT.

    Thanks Chuck...

You doing OPM AND Artist Management now

We were in the studio this afternoon (if the school calls, Jesse had a doctor's appt)

Laying the scratch track for the next song.

Had to make some odd decisions today: The producer "hears" a brass section (in a country song???)

And a reggae beat (apparently either Chesney or Paisely did a track with The Wailers)

I go back on Friday... and we'll compromise with a Jimmy Buffet kinda sound.

    We'll see...

    All My Best,
    Billy Kay

I hope the producer will follow your suggestions, who knows better what sounds right (or wrong) than the performer who's got to make it sound right? Good luck! You're on a roll.

You got me laughing on that last post. Sounds like your producer has been out of the country loop for about 20 years. I was thinking the song also fit for Gary Allen.

So am I wrong to suggest pitching the song/video to country singers? Are you planning to take this on tour?

Watched Springsteen on Jimmy Fallon last night and thought he said he wrote 70 songs but used 7 on his first album. You only have 68 more to write. Here's those two doing a Neil Young parody: YouTube - Bruce Springsteen & Jimmy Fallon "Whip My Hair" 11/16 (TheAudioPerv.com)
