    We have our computers networked.

My machine is the server machine and have windows XP Pro and we are using Internet Connection Sharing.

This has been working just fine, until this morning. All the computers on the network (not mine) can't use the internet. If they type in www.google.com, the get an error page, but if they use googles IP, they can get there just fine.

I can ping IP's from their machines, but not domain names.

The rest of the network works fine. I can get to their machines, and they can get to mine.

The only thing different that I have done was update to Ad-Aware SE personal this morning, so I am thinking maybe this has something to do with it.

I have blown out sharing and reinstalled it, I have released the IPs on all the other machines and still nothing.

    Any ideas?

    TIA
    ~Michelle

Still on service pack 1, so that isn't it.

I took everything out of quarantine and put it back. (It was all cookies, so it wouldn't have made a difference I don't think)

Thanks for those two suggestions though!

Do we have any other suggestions out there?

You might want to check your hosts file (if you haven't already) to check there's nothing untoward.

If the hosts file looks OK, try putting in a manual entry allocating an IP address that you know to a domain name, and see if that then resolves correctly.

Ok, this is weird. I am not sure what I did, but it suddenly started working again.

I have 3 different dial up accounts, one attached to satellite, which is the one we share.

I un-shared the satellite, and shared a regular dial up account, and that shared fine. All machines in the house could use the internet.

So I turned that one off and shared out the satellite again, and it wouldn't work.

I had already checked the hosts file and check for viruses earlier, so at this point I said screw it. I had messed with it for over 3 hours.

I happened to walk by one of the other machines that was on and hit the refresh button to see if Yahoo would load and it did.

Something must have finally connected somewhere in the network.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! If it had went on much longer, I would have been bald! *LOL*
