    I got the following email:

    Dear Publishers,

SeaEagle.com has made a great effort in recent months to identify and eliminate all publishers in our affiliate program using browser plugins or "Parasiteware" that steal commissions from other affiliates. Since we have 8000+ publishers, and CJ does not identify these publishers, this is not a quick or easy task.

This software, which is in wide use through bundled downloads with file sharing software such as Morpheus and Kazaa, redirects all commissions from the affiliate that earns them to the publisher of the parasite software. Surprisingly, this is legal and pervasive on the CJ network.

For more information, you can visit http://www.parasiteware.com

Since SeaEagle.com had removed all publishers using such software from our network, your commissions are safe with our program.

Why do not all merchants follow them?

"Surprisingly, this is legal and pervasive on the CJ network."

Does this mean that we have publishers here on this board and in cj.com network who steal my/our commissions by using parasiteware? And why cj.com does nothing against it? Perhaps cj.com is his own affiliate using also scumware? And why should stealing commissions be legal?

    Carneol,

Have you been keeping up to date? With these questions I think you should go back and ready some of the many threads on the topic. Most, if not all of your questions have been answered.

I thought this would be a message which is appreciated by the crowd. Why is it so quiet here on this subject?

I think it *is* really appreciated.

I know I've added SeaEagle to my short list of product pages to be expanded, just because of this.

But after the earlier announcements by more widely used vendors -- Andy's TD announcements, etc. I think people are getting used to them.

Sort of like coming in second or third, it doesn't get as much attention as first.

I hope the vendors who dump the parasites do see more aff's using them. That counts more than a few "attaboys" now and then.

I know I generally add those vendors to my plans for new pages. Just don't normally post to say it, though.

Does anyone know the CJ account names/IDs that scumware use?, I want to make sure no-one is redirecting our affiliates hard-earned sales into their own pockets.
