Now our ppc ad budgets are being clicked away by paid clickers from all over the world. Not just India and China after all.

Between parasites stealing from us and now paid clickers, it sure gets harder to make a dollar around here.

I've decided to pull out most of my ppc budget. I refuse to pay for this.

From the peak of Google's Adwords to the thousnads of trashy PPCSE clones the click cheats are making a dent in the advertisers budgets.

".....Without a detailed look at the books of the PPCSE feeds I can't give you an exact number, but an extremely conservative estimate of traffic coming from these "search affiliate advertisers" is upwards of 8 million fradulent clicks per month - based on one search per member per program per month, with the member being in an average of 25 programs. Let's up the ante just a little bit. Assume each member performs one valid search per program 20 days a month, and that's over 60 million searches per month. And we're still in very conservative territory here.

Given the costs of the feeds, that's $5,000,000 US - at the very least - of your advertising dollars. Every month. Lost in Paid-to-Read click fraud. And that's the most conservative estimate I could come up with, based on members making one search per program per month. Realistically I think that number is a lot higher. Someone's making a lot of money from your PPC budget. What a pity it isn't you.

That's where your PPC advertising budget is going. Straight into someone elses pocket - with no chance of your making a sale."

Very interesting insight into the MLM -Paid to surf -Paid to Read -Paid to search- group of sleezeballs tired of running ponzi schemes. Reeks of that former ABWer Fred Conquest's ideas of smart marketing. Basically 50-80 million monthly dollars of PPCSE keyword budgets are drained by the PPCSE owners harboring this group of click thieves. Not one sale will result from spending any of that 50 million for targeted traffic....as the PTR affiliates don't even read the click result page and often just automate it with a forced click script.

The PPCSE industry has all the same scumbags populating the affiliate industry as PPCSE keyword click fraud earns the advertiser pick-pockets more then even the BHO Adwhores.

Early esitimates by the FTC is that 50% of all PPCSE clicks are from incented fradulant sources. The hight the keyword price and position the higher the % of click fraud. Seems another post here earlier had someone griping Adwords wrongfully canned his butt for fraud. Maybe he was using PTR junk traffic to his Adwords pages to up his take.

I have no PPCSE accounts so I'm not a victim. I don't specifically optimize any page for Adwords so I'll never loose my Adwords income.

Nice to see every PPCSE is in collusion, just like the network sponsored BHO's, with these click cheats through their FEED networks. I Love that my smug attitude to any and all forms of "incenters" churns up more & more cesspool crap making me absolutely correct...the whole group should be banned from the ecommerce industry. Till then the tricks for clicks group right here at ABW and thousands more outside will screw their merchants ...because they can! It's the only game they know...and spend all their time learning the tricks.

nice listing of some unethical PPCSE frontends running Paid For??? search sites http://www.supertop100.com:81/ppc/r0.shtml

I believe Google Adsense and Adwords have safegaurds to prevent this. The ability to choose ones market (country) is a safegaurd in itself since a lot of pay-to-click fraud is occuring in 3rd world areas.

I have tried some of the "secondary" ppcs and I have a hunch there is some fraud. My income actually stayed the same or even increased AFTER I stopped using the last one (and they wonder why I don't come back).

    WHOAH! . . . .

I read thru the article at http://www.marketingcynic.com/ppcfraud/ and I see that google and overture are falling prey to this as well. Could somebody (mike?) please explain (simply) how someone gets paid for clicking on a ppc ad.

Are these people using adsense and then having the clickers click on the ads? Are there other ways of doing this?

Basically every single GET PAID TO surf-read-click program and all the guaranteed traffic sheisters all are affiliates of the PPCSE consortiums. http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...t+paid+to+read
This just a tip of the iceberg. Through spam and SE listings these operators entice hundreds of thousands of web surfers to get paid to click on links posted on their pages or mostly in daily e-mails. Most buy 4 major scripts to automate this entire function and many buy a PPCSE script to populate with new keyword signups and feeds from other PPCSE's. They promise to pay (LOL) these PTR/PTC members to do the direty work of clicking on PPCSE Ads knowing full well none will buy a darn thing. Many members have joined 50+ PTR/PTC sites and employ false click tools and even form filling apps and bang out several hundred phoney searches or clicks for the PTR operators spreading out or hiding the source of the clicks from the PPCSE complaince folks.

Promising to pay 75% of their cut to the members they get hundreds of thousands of clicksters who spend a couple of hours per day using Mozilla's Firefox multi window feature to run multiple keyword account searches simultainously as the timers show they earn a click fee. Regardless of their being no specific laws on the books calling click cheat fraud illegal other fair trade and fraud laws do cover this as criminal activity. The operators and members have no real intention to buy a damn thing...only to drain the accounts for their cut. Pressure is difficult and similar to the networks non-enforcement of cookie stuffers and BHO's with their forced click schemes. The PPCSE and the networks get paid regardless of the fraudulant activity.

    typical site www.aprilgoldsgetpaid2reademail.com
no sense look in wois as this perp owns many template sites and uses the domainsbyproxie privacy route to hide their identity in case their members yell about not being paid.

There's just no protection from this for us.

Google's being targetted by both adsense portals and the search box.

    Overture is being fed off.

It's not China and India, it's U.S., Canada, U.K., the search engine friendly clickers are being used!!!

Switch content off in google, they still get us.

Switch off traffic from u.s., canada & u.k., well that pretty much covers my target base.

    There's no avoiding them.

I did see in one of the thread's above that suggested lowering bids so that you aren't on the first page of results since they just blindly click whatever is on the first page.

I might do that for now while I prepare to move off ppc totally.

Here's an example of adsense that was just given in the warrior thread:

If you guys have big money keywords you might want to pull those off content at the very least.

I'll never forget the time I had bid on "jokke" (somehow had banged into the keyboard or something while typing in my keywords) and I got a flood of hits coming from auto-generated page 60-something of results on a sham SE partner of one of the "big three" PPC joints. It's bad enough that the term passed muster on a relevance review that they do before terms go live. Don't ask how hard I got whacked on the REAL words.
