    Hi there.

    I am in the process of setting up a travel affiliate program. Pretty much following along the lines of Orbitz, Hotwire, etc.
    I just wanted to find out which would be more valued by affiliates:

    1.) A Percentage of sales commission rate
    or
    2.) A straight CPA per sale

    Please let me have your thoughts.

    That sorta' depends...

    Are you considering a percentage on flights as well, or just hotels? I'll assume just hotels.

    If that's correct, then it would depend on the class of hotel. If they're all posh, luxury hotels, a percentage could work out pretty sweet. If you have a mix of posh and more affordable hotels, a straight CPA might be more appealing.

    It would come down to my audience, and what I thought they would do with your offering.

    Thanks for your input!
    I've been looking around and it does seem that other companies are offering either or. Not both CPA and % of sales! Perhaps a choice would be a wise decision!
    At the moment it looks as though we will be looking at a range offerings both posh and economy hotels, flights, cars, etc!
    The idea being to attract affiliates that are already engaging in promoting our competitor's programs.
    Let me know, those of you affiliates that are involved in these verticals, would you find this compelling enough to encourage a cross over? And if so what CPA and % of sales would be ideal to facilitate the switch?
