I do think it's good that you bring this to other affiliates attention, but how on earth is Brian and his team supposed to police "stuff" like that?

Janew - there isn't much that we can do about bad customer reviews, etc... Most companies have bad reviews from time to time I would think that it is nearly impossible not to. I understand some can have more than others and I would think there is a time when it could become an issue with regards to account status - but for the most part it isn't something we can make a judgement on.

I don't see that translation at all. If you have a specific complaint that a merchant has violated its terms of service with the network or is acting in bad faith against affiliates, then Brian would have the authority to act, regardless of how well the merchant performs.

Based on the complaints though, the reversal rate should be low..... >.>

On a more serious note.... There's 81 reviews there. About 1/2 are negative. So that's 40 complaints. In what way does that make them a bad merchant?

We all know that nearly no one takes the time to write a positive review, so I really think that's not too bad a percentage.

What specifically caused you to bring this up today Jane?

There are definitely a lot of complaints - but I feel like online complaints and reviews in general are way too easy to manipulate and can't be verified for accuracy really very easily at all.

I think it would be inappropriate for us to disallow access to our platform based on online reviews of a company - that would be a slippery slope to walk down.

Certainly, it is good information for Affiliates to have and makes much more sense for each individual affiliate to decide if they are comfortable with the review, etc... as opposed to us making a decision for everyone.

Brian is absolutely right. What "works" for one affiliate may or may not work for another. Affiliates need to accept (some level of) responsibility for their own actions and perform due diligence in the decision-making process of whether to promote a merchant or not. That's part of what being a businessman/businesswoman entails.

If it is later found that something is not working quite right with a merchant - don't complain that "someone else" is not doing their job. Correspond directly with the source; and if that doesn't produce the desired results, the recourse is simple: drop them and move on to another.
