    Groupon & Adsense
I added a page on Bonsai Plants and added a Adsense banner .When I checked it it was related to other bonsai related products. Checked it a couple of hours and it was changed to a Groupon/Regina which is the closest city to me. Now all my pages that have a adsense ad have this same Groupon ad.This is really overkill on Groupon ads so why would I promote them and compete against Google? If this does not change I will remove all adsense ads.

You can block them from your pages by blocking their ads from your Adsense ads.

Yes I just checked that out BurgerBoy,Thanks. It's just more work and I guess this the start of Googles local search program. Google ads now pick up the city and country where you live. Google ads used to be relievent to what you had on your page.

    Question
adsense ads were based on page content and groupon on visitor IP number. are we going to get in trouble with google now if we show both ad types on one page?

I really do not like them to use just my IP no, especially if one has a .com extention. If one has a .ca then adsense ads should reflect Canadian ads.

The Groupon ads may be based upon the # of times you visit the site and the tracking of your IP to your Google user/Adsense account.

With all the tracking that is going on I wouldn't assume that you are seeing what anyone/everyone else is seeing. I was working on a site I'm building about government bonds and, oh the joy . . of seeing municipal bond ads follow me around . . which is why I mostly work on my sites with google syndic. blocked by my hosts file.
I'll get the hang of it eventually. :0)

These ads will be targetted to you. Google/Groupon (same company as far as I know now) will have more details about you than your mother.
