    important question about licenseplate urls
Does licenseplate create and shorten an affiliate url, or just SHORTEN an affiliate url already made? This is an important question that needs addressing.

raw urls or aff urls in license plate links?
Are we supposed to put a normal (non affiliate) url in the 'destination url' field when generating a license plate link and it comes out as an affiliate link, or are we supposed to put an affiliate url in the 'destination url' field when generating the link?

are licenseplate urls actual affiliate links, or just shortened urls?
Is the license plate url an actual affiliate link or does it just shorten a raw destination url?

A license plate link is an automatically created affiliate link.

I use a direct link to the merchant product or category page I want to feature. Have had sales from these links so it's working. :-)

Ditto - I've gotten sales from them, too. Love the license plate links and social sharing functions!

I've noticed that the clicks on the license plate links do not appear in the daily stats report.

The default in SAS reports is to count only "unique" visitors, not the amount of actual clicks. If you're testing the link by clicking it yourself, it will only register as 1 click.

If anyone else has noticed this and I missed something, please let me know.

Correct you place the URL of the page you want the link to land without any affiliate info and then the LP links will take care of the rest for you!

They do.. but the best place to find the specific links is to use the afftrack field and add additional tracking such as "shoe tweet" and then you can get an even more targeted number of how each link is working via the "Traffic Report"
