How do I copyright my e-book?
    Hi!

I have an unfinished ebook on finance, but am not finishing it since it is my only ebook with knowledge. The problem is that I want to copyright it so no body steals content from it. Is there anyway to copyright it online? Thank you.

You may be able to copyright it online but, as soon as you make it available online, it won't be long before some crook will steal some, or all of the content for their own use...

True, but copyright is copyright. If I can successfully copyright it, then even when a crook steals it, I could defend myself.

Legally speaking, all original works are copyrighted and protected by law, providing you add a proper attribution to the work. the point to registration is to provide a method for proving your works was created before it was reproduced elsewhere.

for the most part, it's also a civil crime, so it's pretty much up to you to enforce it.

Trust me, you need it registered if you want to prove someone violated your copyright. bradk is correct it is copyright protected upon creation, but without registering you can't prove it's really yours.

Do I have to be in the US for that? Or this is an International license.

of course you can make the e book copy protected. in every page you should write some keyword. like "THIS COPY IS RIGHT PROTECTED" this type. it should be inside your writings. also you should not let people to view full book. just the content page. this is the only way i think.

I think making an e-book copy protected is tends to impossible. But why are you tensed about that? You are the writer so you should not think about others. You should keep your good job going and publish your e-book as soon as possible. You can give the content page and abstract for free view. After reading these people will be interested in buying your book. So I think your ultimate goal will be fulfilled.
    Thanks...
