Quick question about revenue generation

I have been reading this forum for a while but am a complete newbie to affiliate marketing. I have a quick question that I am hoping to get some help on.
I am in the process of writing a mobile application that lets users view coupons to local stores in their area. When it comes to revenue generation, is it possible to make commissions if the user simply views a coupon? These coupons would be something that they would typically show at the register and not the click-through type. I am wondering if a user viewing the coupon qualifies for a commission or not. I don't think it is a big deal for the type of application I am designing but am still wondering.
While I am at it, please let me know if you have any recommendations for a good data source for specifically this type of coupons (printables only?).
Thanks a bunch!!
