The problem is, there are lots of ways for you NOT to get your commission from a parasite-ridden merchant, even when their tracking code is "on." For instance, one of their parasitic partners may pop up a "reminder" window telling YOUR people to click THEIR link to "save X% on their purchase at this merchant."
Or their parasites may be more blatant and just flat-out overwrite your tracking code with their own.

Here is what a "Parasite Ridden" merchant often does:
The visitor opts in to the particular program that works with the merchant. Go to THIS LINK or THIS LINK to see merchants that participate in just these two programs.
The browser helper object invokes a popup, or other incentive based ad,when the person visits your site. Once on/in the BHO ad, the commission is no longer yours.
I worked with a merchant last year that I sent 15K visitors to for about $50 in commissions for nearly one entire year. The same merchant went parasite free, and I am making about $100 per month now. Yes, parasites take your commissions. There is really no way to know what merchants work with them without seeing their name on some merchant list or seeing the parasite actually in action by joining the incentive/BHO programs and seeing your sale disappear right before your eyes. Some merchants do not even realize they are participating with Browser Helper Object providers. This World is Not My Home
