Is it just me or has Torre failed to show up this series? He hasn't been a manager all series not even in the 3 NY won.

    Question:

In order to reverse the curse, do the Sox have to win the AL or the Series?

    Yes! Yes! Yes!...

    Boston makes history....

No team has ever lost the first three games of a pennant race...
The best four out of a seven game series...

And then come back to win four games in a row
    to take the pennant...

    Hooray Boston...

    The really interesting thing is..........

If Houston beats Saint Louis tomorrow night...
Another best four out of seven game series...

It’s going to be Texas against Massachusetts...

Kinda like a preview of the up coming election...

    Personally...I’m rooting for Boston...

Even the most rabid Yankee hater bears no ill will toward Mr. Torre.

Alexis Rodrigirl though, the look on that b*tch's face was precious.

After 29 years of rooting for the Sox I think I'm entitled for a little rant. And honestly it would be the same rant if the Yankees won.

Overall it was a very exciting series and it's about time things fell in favor of the Sox. I applaud the Sox for answering the ever inquisitive Yankees fans regarding the question of "Who's Your Daddy."

The first thing that ticked me off regarding the Yankees happened pre-season. The Yankeees had no business or need to acquire A-Rod. Their sole motivation was to rub it in the faces of the Red Sox. The Yankees would have been better off getting some pitching.

Isn't it funny how there was very little camera time for the attention whore Jeter ? Normally he is shown strutting around and pumping his fists. The rest of the lineup are more than just knaves for Captain Jeter. Sierra and Matsui were the heroes of the first three games, yet the media always focused on Jeters reaction. I have respect for many of the Yankees players such as Posada, Matsui, Williams and Sierra. They're class acts. I lost respect for A-Rod with that little girly slap play.

Win or lose neither team has anything to be ashamed above. They both had great seasons.

A complete heatbreaker for me, but the better team won, and made history doing so, deservedly.

Now I only hope they also win the series!

That is very noble of you, Haiko.
My girlfriend is a staunch Yankee fan. I am not a huge Sox fan, but just I like good baseball.
I can imagine what a heart breaker this is for Yankees fans.
These were great games, both teams are to be congratulated, with the exception of A-rod and his poor sportsmanship.
    Overall...a wonderful series.

Aside from the history and astronomical odds against winnning, there were so many bizarre subplots that made this series particularly interesting to watch:

The "Daddy" and "Shut Up" melodrama.

Curt Schilling getting shelled when he was expected to pitch a classic shutdown, then executing a shutdown when he was not expected to make it through three innings if even that much.

Pedro taking yet another loss in spite of a good performance, then in a second appearance, giving up more ground in 6 pitches than the starter had given up in 6 innings.

The scapegoat who was on the verge of being chased out of town by a lynch mob (Derek Lowe) getting the job done twice.

Two players whose performance would have had them benched for a while during the regular season (Damon and Bellhorn) both delivering big RBI hits when the curtain was about to close.

Joe Torre deserves some credit for finally realizing that Mariano Rivera is not his man when facing the Red Sox. As good as he has ever been, is, and probably will be for several years to come, he should not be put on the mound to pitch to the Red Sox, period. I may be wrong, but hasn't he blown more saves and taken more losses against the Red Sox than against all other teams combined? Leaving Gordon on the mound for as long as he did, though it did not work out, was a wise decision. But too little too late.

What odds were the bookies offering on the Red Sox to come back and win from 3-0 down?

    Classy, Haiko.

You know that we in Boston know all too well how you feel.

This year it's our long-overdue turn. Happy to have you rooting for the sox.

My one little bit of gloating that I'll allow myself is directed here:

Their defense has gone to hell in the series, but they keep hitting the ball, especially with two outs.
