I was wondering if listing your email address on your affiliate site is a good thing or bad thing. I get emails every day regarding questions of my products, and then I usually direct them to my merchants tech email for their questions. How do all you handle this? Would it be good to list the email of the merchant on your website? Any other ways of handling this?

Any thoughts and suggestions about this is appreciated. Thanks.

Sometimes.. rarely, I get a useful email pointing out a problem with the site or an error, but more often it's someone too stupid to understand that I'm not the merchants or a bunch of Nigerians or Indonesians trying to rip me off.

Of course, any email address published on a web page will be a magnet for all sorts of spam so you'll need some sort of spam filtering on the address. You can always use a feedback form if you know how to do one.

a feedback form combined with an autoreply program can be a good thing.

All my sites list my email address and also have a privacy policy. As a surfer I'm always suspicious of sites that don't include this info, so of course I feel I need to provide it on my own sites.

Some merchants won't approve you for their aff program if you don't provide this information.

an email adress on a website = 1,000,000 od spam emails...

I would suggest that if you want to provide a way to be contacted... use a secure form...

if you are unsure how to do this... ask your host host recommendations...

their are several serure form scripts available...

I use natemail... my host recommended it...

you can impliment it with some simple cut n paste... followed by ftping youir page to your hosting account...

I use an address from SpamCop if I'm putting it on a web page. If you use an email redirector you can "hide" the fact that it's a Spamcop address. It's not expensive and very effective.

Forms for 2 reasons. Like posted above, listing an email addy is just opening yourself up to SPAM. Another reason to use forms instead of email addys is users are more likely to use them for contact purposes than email.

I put my email address on a jpg or a gif let the people that are trying to contact you spell it out. no spam and I have never got an email asking about a product.

One consideration I have been contemplating was what role a keyword laden email address might have on the search engines. For example, would mufflers@mymufflerstoremadeupdomain.com help for the keyword mufflers? Does google place any kind of significance to that?

I use a contact form and when I absolutely must display my emaill address, I use an obfuscator
