I don't know how many we have here from Florida, Ohio, PA and other swing states, but I will say that in the last few weeks it seems that every commercial is a political ad. Every break contains at least three political ads of the four 30 second spots that make up the break.
My phone has rung no less than 40 times in the past two weeks with a political recording on the other end. It has rang 5 times already today.
I'll be glad when this F'ing election is over!
Before I could finish this post, the phone rang again, that's 6 calls today.

the nice thing about living in a heavily red states was no nattional ads...

another nice is I live in a small city...so there were very few local political ads ...

sure glad it over... maybe now the cable news channels will move on to other things...

I agree Scohaz, politics this year had the familiar smell of week old

It was kind of nice to have both Hillary and Bill Clinton take time out of their busy days to give me a call to make sure that I was going to vote. I mean George Bush didn't have any of his famous supporters call me.

Seriously though, down here in Florida, we have not only had the phone calls (10+ a day for the last 2 weeks - thank you early voting) but we have also had mail boxes full on a daily basis of junk and about 3-5 people each day for the last 2 weeks coming by the house to see if we needed a ride to our voting place and to make sure we understood our ballot.

This is by far the most activity that we have ever gotten here for any election. It is very cool on one side that they are doing this to ensure that there is record turnout, but annoying in that I work out of my house using the phone so every 3rd call is a political ad.

Wouldn't it change the way politicians advertised if we suddenly started getting ads for viagra and dating chat lines via our telephone like we do on email?

Plenty of phone calls and mailers.

The most offensive being a front page of news headlines featuring Sept 11th with color pics of the towers in flames - and on top a greyed out pic of the opponent of the ad.

Sept 11th was a heart wrenching emotional personal day. I will not vote for anyone who uses its imagery in a cheap ploy to scare voters. It is not bunting, it is not a flag, you cannot drape yourself in misery and pain and get my vote. That ad sickened me to no end.

I've had the calls, the junk mail and even the uninvited visitors. I've even been polled about once or twice a month for the last six months. I've had 6 calls to today, the Clintons, Bush, Cheney, NRA and Castor. Don't worry Kerry called last night!

    Yeah, thankfully it's over.
