I'm a big Joomla fan - we would be very supportive of any ideas along these lines. Cruzer13 thanks for this post.

Most popular? Are you sure? What about WordPress and Drupal?

I've got to believe WordPress is now the most popular CMS, with Drupal and Joomla vying for second/third place honors.

I guess we can all come up with stats that support which CMS is more popular (http://cmscrawler.com/completelist) but lets' stay on the topic. Has anyone been able use a CMS (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla) software with Betty Mills data feeder? Or are static web pages better?

    Thanks for your opinions.

Is anybody having any luck with their scripts anymore? I just removed the Betty Mills version of the Cusiamano script from one of my sites. All the links went to the Betty's home page. I have my own script on another site and it works fine.

I got the impression that it's real hard to get the scripts to pay off these days with the changes at Google. The Cusiamano forum is super quiet nowadays. I had to take all their scripts down.

Most of the time the scripts work real good though. In the end I think it was the Google changes that made them not work for me.

I might be getting close to a resolution. How often is the data feeder updated?

We just added 28,000 items to our store (now up to 121,000), so we are in the middle of a post launch Q/A. Once we are clear we are going to update the datafeed with the new items and make an announcement. Not sure why the Dyse script is going to the home page but that usually means outdated links.

I am currently working with a software manufacture called redSHOP (Joomla) and they offer an import program to their data base, however they are looking for a csv file. My concern is me getting credit when some clicks on a product to buy. Is that where the WEBSITE_URL comes into to play?

Cruzer, that is probably a question for redShop as to how they apply the credit. Let us know if we can answer any questions. We would be very open to working with any new/innovative programs that serve the affiliate space.

    No.
It is illegal to sell things you do not own. Even if you get a merchant account, you cannot charge a credit card until you ship. Shipping to you first and then to the customer will not be competitive - fist due to slow delivery and then due to dual shipping charges. You will run into big problems in the case of shipping damage and returns and how will you deal with fraud and chargebacks? Forget it, Betty Mills does not offer DropShip arrangements. You are not the merchant and it is fraudulent to pretend you are, I don't think that is what you want to do.

No fraud intended here. Just looking for a way to use my joomla website and I am running into a wall. Do you know of a site that is using Betty Mills? I might have to switch to html.

There are discussions of using Joomla in the blogging section of ABW, don't know that anyone has integrated Betty Mill's feed specifically, have you looked at Cusimano's script for BettyMills?

    Sorry to barge in...

Have you tried Virtuemart's shopping cart for Joomla? It's available as a package download for either legacy or new Joomla.

I had a joomla/virtuemart store and loved it. Heck I may use it again, LOL. I used a .csv upload to add/update my store. What I can't remember is whether there's a field for the 'website_url'. doh...

Just thought I'd ask, since I didn't see it mentioned.

    Syvia,

Excellent suggestion. If someone has a chance to try this out let us know. In the meantime, we will take a look as well.

Here is a link to the Virtualmart extension for Joomla.

My guess is that the buy now button would need to be linked to the affiliate URL at the product page level. Not sure if it can do that out of the box or not yet.

Yep, I saw that (went over to look at virtuemart after I posted & before I got BANNED for posting the link )

Disappointing. I know virtuemart is open source, but I wouldn't have the foggiest how to make any needed changes.

I may have to go peek at the extensions available to see if any others would work.

well, yuck. Didn't see any usable extensions at joomla. Darn.

I may go with Zen-Cart, which has a field for products URL. If ya'll have more than 100K products now, I wouldn't trust anything less than zen cart, really.

back soon with some actual Betty Mills questions, probably. LOL Let me install & try the zen cart site.

This thread is becoming very interesting. Take a look at redcomponent.com they have been trying to work with me. I don't mine paying for the software. I just need to get this business off the ground. The feature I like is their import/export of csv files. So close and yet so far. Do any you having a working web site with Betty Mills?
