This one has come up so many times now the poor horse isn't just dead, but I think there's only a skeleton left.

After all the 'debates' about posting political stuff on ABW, all the accomodations that have been made to try and please ALL members of this board, all the cr@p that has happened one way or another over political posts......

WTF can't people post that in the designated area of this board that has been set up specifically for those who want to engage in such postings? Why do they have to continue to post the in the main areas of this board where those of us who don't want to be subjected to the accidentally stubmle on it?

I don't come here to have to see that stuff and get p!ssed off and insulted at a lot of the that gets posted in those threads that has nothing to do with affiliate marketing.

There's already enough members on this board that I will never do business with based off of the they've posted in those threads and I can add one more from accidentally clicking on a link in New Posts and landing in the thread when I should have gotten an access error message if it had been started where it should have been.

If folks want to discuss this stuff, fine. But damn it, why can't folks keep it on the part of the board it's supposed to be on???? I got all these threads again showing in New Posts that I have access to that I shouldn't.

I mean really..."subjected" to viewing a political post? If you don't like a post, don't read it. If you "accidentally" read the first sentence and it looks like a political post, don't read it.

    Your reaction really is absurd.

I like this board. I came here as an affiliate manager and stayed because I like some of the content here, even though I am no longer associated (much) with affiliate marketing.

But the one thing about this board that turns me off is the censorship. I have never been a member of a board that censors as much as this one.

Kellie is spot on with her complaint. I had Haiko remove my access to the political forum because I was sick of reading it or scrolling through 100 political postings to see two AM posts.

It's bad enough sorting through some of the trash that gets posted about AM, never mind having to go through the political garbage also. Haiko was kind enough to create the political forum for those (and only those)who are interested.....use it.

Excuse me but where did I say a word about censorship? Yeah, obviously I don't think political discussions belong in a biz environment (there's a good reason for the biz axiom of the 3 things that should not be discussed in relation to business...politics, religions and sex). In fact, I've supported the efforts to find a viable solution to this issue. And I've never once said that people didn't have a right to post their opinions.

A specific place on this board has been established for political posts. Freedom of speech is something that I do hold very dear to me on a very personal level. Along with many of the other principles that my country is based on. However just because people have that right, it doesn't mean I have to subject myself to hearing everyone else's views.

What I said is my post is why couldn't people respect what has been set-up on this board to not only honor their right to post and read such if they want?

But whatever. I'm in the process of setting up email notifications for the forums that are related to affiliate marketing so I won't have to see the other stuff (which is also my right) and will restrict my viewing and use of the board through those email notifications.

I totally agree with Kellie. A political forum was set up for political posts. If you want access to read those, all you have to do is ask. I did not ask to be included yet all of a sudden, political posts have started showing up again in the main forum sections. If I wanted to see them, I'd ask to have access!

Haiko I just wanted to add that my issues here are not directed at you. I know that you have bent over backward to try and accomodate that wishes of as many of the members here as possible.

Frankly, I haven't seen that many political posts outside of the Political Discussion area lately.

Yesterday we had to notify Haiko as Ecom went out on numerous verbal, political, racial attacks in numerous posts.

It was decided by people running ABW that there would be a seperate area for this. Great idea, people can discuss what they want, and I can stay in this area as MS B has mentioned others not wanting to see that area, or have time to filter through it all can be involved in the AM part.
So if I/we repect they can have their own area Haiko has set aside, why can't they respect others wishes who don't come here to discuss the political stuff and keep that in the designated area

Something like one of my forums. Some people never "get it" and back off.
The people that complain and PM about deleting posts, censoring, etc are always the ones with the biggest yaps. I have contemplated even shutting my forum down, but re considered. The ones causing all the sh*t in the first place would just go find another place to do the same thing to feed their egos

    censorship? Are you insane?

I delete spam posts everyday, that is part of the forum, but this week I edited one of Poon's posts and removed four of Mikes, is that what you call heavy heavy censorship?

    Political posts moved.

    Yes, TY Haiko.

It just completely confounds me why folks can't respect the minimal guidelines of this community and make use of the system that Haiko put in place to accomodate thier wishes at his own time and not to mention expense (for the additional programming on the new boards).

Accidental is one thing, but most of these folks know where the discussions belong. The new section of the forum was created for them after all.

I can't move them because I don't have access rights to that forum (nor do I want them and especially just to houseclean behind those who can't show some restraint and respect for the community overall by taking the time to navigate to the right forum to start a thread).

What the above post does say to me that there will continue to folks here that no matter what will just continue to do whatever they want to do regardless of the decisions reached to make this community as best as possible and to meet the needs of as many members as possible.

The thread that led to changing the permissions on the political forum http://abw.infopop.cc/eve/ubb.x?a=tp...wpollresults=Y shows a majority of 65% of those voting wanted the political forum completely done away with.

Haiko continued to bend over backwards to accomodate the 26% who wanted the forums and changed the permissions so the 65% who didn't want to see the stuff.

It's a very good workable compromise. But some of those 26% apparently seem to feel that their minority view and wants are more important than the majority here and refuse to respect what Haiko went out of his way to put in place for the overall betterment of this entire community.

And chill? I've been biting my tongue on this issue for years and trying to be respectful of the rights of other members who POV is opposite of mine. Why should I continue when they refuse to do the same?

But like I said earlier, it's clear this will continue to happen. Since I don't want to completely scratch ABW over this (even though on a personal level I have extremely strong reactions to much of the stuff I see along the political topics), I have set up email notices for the AM forums and will interact with ABW through those in order minimize having to be exposed to the other stuff. And folks can continue to post whatever where ever.

And while I will probably miss some important threads because I can't put forums such as this one on the notice list, I'd much rather do that than to stop participating here. I'm taking this thread off of notification now too.

Kellie- Like I said before, I think it should be a seperate entity unto itself, like abestpolitics.com or something, completely seperate.

    >completely seperate

Haiko might want to JV with PUD aka Philip Kaplan since they are both from NY.

    ABW could sell him traffic.

Shame this one was removed, I missed it and am sure it would have been worth a laugh based on the other rubbish that comes from his keyboard.

Hey, it's nice to see an ex IU football coach quoted somewhere, ROFL. That doesn't happen very often!

Yes, I did accidentally start a thread in the wrong forum a couple of days ago. I posted in midnight cafe out of force of long habit and being tired. I realized the mistake right off for which I apologized. I can't move a thread. I would have moved it if I could.

SO, EXCUSE ME all to hell and gone!

Also, consider that some people who do not yet have access to the political forum will post where they can. In that case, just move the thread and give them access with a welcome to the politics forum.
