Question How to Check Broken Images in Data Feed
Hi there! I have a data feed that is uploaded to WebGains. It is live but the stats say that 5% of the images are broken.

Does anyone know of a way to check which data feed images are broken, other than manually clicking each image url. There are approximately 500 products.

    Thanks ahead of time!

I've used Xenu's Link Sleuth (Find broken links on your site with Xenu's Link Sleuth (TM)) to check for invalid links -- you give it a list of URLs (in a text file) and it checks them and reports the results.

Beware: some merchants/servers/hosts use redirects so that web page URLs (and sometimes even invalid image URLs) are redirected to pages that aren't actually tagged as "404 not found." This can make it more difficult to identify problems, though there are some work-around strategies.

if you know some basic php you could write a script to check them all - probably less than 20 lines of code. bing it and you might find exactly what you need

Brilliant Mark! Worked like a gem. Being an "Infrequent Participant" you do a great job.

While I have you, do you know anything about unmatched prices on a data feed?

On the feed stats, it is also saying there are 32% "Prices Not Matched" Matched with what? Do you know what this could mean?

Just to put a cap on this thread. As I thought, the "prices not matched" stat refers to a discrepancy between the price listed on the datafeed and the price at the actual website. Good for me, the datafeed analyzer was acting up and the datafeed itself is just fine.

you could use the Broken Image Finder Add-On for Firefox, which detects unavailable images by scanning the currently visited website and its embedded stylesheets:
