Food prices soared 3.9 percent last month, the biggest gain since November 1974. Most of that increase was due to a sharp rise in vegetable costs, which increased nearly 50 percent. That was the most in almost a year. Meat and dairy products also rose.

yes there is a worldwide price hike in the food industry. some says its due to the increase in the average rate in every item like materials, fertilizers, insecticides, water due to increase in the rate of electricity. the overall effect is the result of increase in the rate of the food. but think about the middle class people in Asia you can't imagine what is the situation. its too much bad. its becoming for impossible for the working class people to have 2 time full stomach meal in these countries. Rate of beggars are also increasing day by day due to not having work.
