You can make money without doing evil [sic]
Ten things we know to be true (Really)

It's time for somebody to stop these LIARS.

"In recent years, the dominance over Internet search of the world’s largest search engine, Google, has increased and Google has increasingly sought to acquire e-commerce sites in myriad businesses," Kohl said in a news release.

Herb Kohl vows Google probe - Mike Zapler - POLITICO.com

After kicking out affiliates sites from the SERPs, Google is now taking them over: (How can we still trust these people?)

Google's move to acquire Beat That Quote.com, an affiliate site, for $61 million is the latest symptom of Google's abusive monopoly power.

Google buys BeatThatQuote.com, a U.K. price comparison site | Technology | Los Angeles Times

    2. It’s best to do one thing really, really well.
Well, you could say that an octopus does one thing.
We first wrote these “10 things” several years ago. From time to time we revisit this list to see if it still holds true. We hope it does – and you can hold us to that. (September 2009)
We can? No untruer words were ever spoken.

"evil" is such a subjective term, especially if it might require you to alter your business plans.

Are you telling us, none of your sites have been slapped by Google? You don't want me to list them.

    Just the fact that they:

    • Buy up / start competing ecommerce businesses
    • Own their own affiliate network
    • Destroyed the domain parking business then turned around and started their own domain parking business

    Anyone else see the hypocrisy...

If somebody doesn't like the way they're treated by Google, all they need to do is disallow googlebot in their robots.txt files.

I honestly can't think of anything more non-productive than wasting energy *****ing about Google.

I'm so sorry to waste your time. You can add me on your ignore list. I spent some of my time looking at your old sites and their stats. I don't say, I wasted my time, I learned something.

I very happy the way Google is treating me and has been in the past. It's doesn't mean Google is fair and is not abusing the web users.
And Convergence said it better. I don't like their hypocrisy.

Lest anyone forget, we thankfully have a Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights.

Huge corporations + mergers = massive power over consumers' choices. No, they cannot be trusted to do the right thing all the time. It's a bit more than competing businesses merely adjusting their business plans. What Convergence said.

    Yep. Eating their prey.

They have gotten so big that one arm does not seem to know what the other is doing.
One arm (Adsense) has been pushing affiliates to put up more adsense with multiple emails, messages on the Adsense control panel, invites to Adsense in your city, etc.

While the other hand (Search) is reaching around and slapping those same very sites for having too many ads, especially in their recommended "money spots" - mid center above fold.

The other arm (Adwords) has already been spraying ink on anyone last year who remotely tries to come close and even luring them with multiple "adwords vouchers" as bait. Just to slap them soon after they open an acct.

    2. It’s best to do one thing really, really well.
World Dominance. Yep, Google's certainly is doing it well. Not through armies, ships, planes, tankers, etc. but through 0 and 1s. Absolute power is never a good thing.

And the Google lobbyists spent $5.16MM in 2010 and $800K+ on Obama's campaign in 2008 - I doubt if it was for the betterment of the internet...

France’s data privacy regulator has fined Google €100,000 ($141,670 USD) for gathering data from private Wi-Fi networks while collecting imagery for Google Street View
    Today.

Forget the privacy issue about the stolen views... These thieves were also collecting passwords, banks accounts information, credit card data (Google checkout must not be enough for them), last web sites visited... and much, much more.
Who do they think they are?
    Isn't it evil?

The Spanish Data Protection Agency is preparing to fine Google over infractions against local data protection laws when it collected Wi-Fi data as part of its Street View service

Google’s infractions included collecting passwords and e- mails transferred wirelessly...
Fined because of the gravity of breaches and “the economic advantages Google gained from these violations...”

Google is “profoundly sorry for having mistakenly collected payload data from unencrypted WiFi networks”
    Are they really?

What's the point? You will abandon your adsense account or quit on Google search?

I didn't open an adsense account so I don't have a GAN account anymore and I'm making more money than before. Is there something I'm not getting?
I know, I must be confused.
Six delusions of Google’s arrogant leaders:
1: It’s not about the money
2: Google’s wealth means Google “gets it”
3: Google must sacrifice user privacy to grow
4: Users are hungry for Google synergy
    5: Google is a worker’s utopia
6: The outraged users are confused

Don't use adsense (or adwords) - have our own PPC Ad Network
Don't build for the Google - if traffic comes from the Google, so be it
Use the Google for competitive research

Lots of planning and some luck. It's only beyond one if they choose it to be...

Definitely right... It's getting harder and harder to make money via Google Adsense.
