Front Page of CMS: How to SEO?
I have a Joomla website with over 150 articles, many of them heavily optimized for my keywords.

My question is how to set up my front page, my root url page. I have endless options of what I can post on the front page and don't know what to do in order to best optimize the page for my keywords. For example I can set it up so that all of my articles are posted to the front page.

Does anyone have any insights into what I should do?

I would not link all the articles from the hompage. That would be 150 links and is considered bad for SEO as it dilutes things a lot and is a bunch of links.

Really any page should not have over 100 links.

I would just do 10 latest articles and then some category links. Google then could spider the site.

Sitemap and an RSS feed would help as well.

Thanks for your advice. In terms of the category links, I have those on another page /blog. Would it help the SEO of my front page to include those links there, as apposed to on my /blog page? Or alternatively could I have those links on both pages?

I would say both pages. In fact I would just use them in the sidebar and/or possibly the topnav from every page. That gives people a chance to read further in one area that they are insterested in.

Yeah that makes good sense. Making it easier for visitors to get around is always a good idea. OK thank you for your help.
