I have a .com site with an affiliate program and today one of my affiliates bought the same name as my site .net which he just points to my site. I'm not quite sure what to do..
I could ban him but on the other hand maybe he could still be building business for me. I guess I should have bought the extensions to my domain before hand.
Has anyone had experience with this?
Thanks for any advice.

I assume you have a "terms of service" for your affiliate program. Is there anything in there that covers or forbids it?

If you ban him he could (likely would?) put the "similarity" to use promoting a competitor. If your domain is trademarked you could probably "make" him stop. But, otherwise, I would just "accept" the occasional traffic and get on with it. If he is only "pointing" or redirecting to your site I doubt if that traffic will amount to much at all.

you might want to address this in your T's and C's for future reference. And make sure that you register your common mis-spells on your own to keep affiliates from speculating on this.
