Odd Reason for Temp Offline

I've been having to respond to visitors' emails saying one of my aff links doesn't work. (This merchant is Temp offline)
I usually ignore these, as merchants tend to be back online in a day or two
It's long enough. I went to their site to call them personally and tell them to send SAS twenty five bucks!
I get a recording "We're closed for the season, but you can still place orders online"
What friggin' season? Is Passover a season???
If affiliates aren't going to be paid knowingly for an extended period of time (whatever they define as a season)... shouldn't they be required to TELL US??

Yes, for some companies it is a holiday season.
Copied from a retailer's website.
We are not accepting orders at this time. Online ordering will resume at 9:00PM EDT on Wednesday, April 20th.
Our SuperStore and offices are currently closed and will reopen on Wednesday, April 27th at 9:00AM EDT.
All online orders placed during the Holiday will ship when we reopen.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patronage."
