    For 2Busy...
    Nancy,

Check your SAS stats - you did VERY well yesterday. You sold a BUNCH of engraved crystal decanters for a school district in Bishop, CA

Now... what you put the merchant thru...

I'm sitting at Red Rock - WINNING I might add - and I get a text from Loxly "Fund your SAS account ASAP"

Since my texting skills are limited to "OK" and "LOL", I call and tell her "I'm on auto-deposit".

She said Nancy made a humongous large sale that wiped out all my reserves!

It's 5:30... I cash out my $428 winnings. The cash out machine gives me hundreds. I re-insert them to get twenties.

Head for the nearest Bank of America (about a block away from the casino)... and it is apparently the only ATM machine in Vegas that doesn't take cash deposits.

No problem, I know another branch. Wait on the LONG car line at the drive-thru ATM... yep... found the 2nd ATM that doesn't take cash.

Sped to my normal BoA... long car line... stick in a wad of twenties... get an error message "We couldn't accept some of your bills/please retrieve them"

Several retries later... out of 20 twenties... it accepted THREE!!!

I curse out the ATM machine for sticking me with all these twenties... went to dinner and there were slot machines at the restaurant... hit "4 twos with a kicker" ($200)

So I'm happy that you made a big sale. I'm upset that you took me out of RedRock and had me running all over Vegas. I'm happy because of you I made an extra $200.

LOLOL - Mixed affiliate emotions - LOLOL

So that's how affiliate marketing works - the unpublished version anyway

    Congrats on the sale Nancy

    Best,
    Billy Kay

I left out another odd part...

I haven't logged into SAS as a merchant in.... well, however many years ago I set it up. TeamLoxly does all that stuff.

But I had to log in to "Force a Deposit"

C'mon... ask me if I had any idea what my merchant password was?????? LOLOLOLOL

    Best/Billy

Geez Nancy... this is the order that never ends! (Check your SAS stats)

Just got an order and the details looked familiar...

    Item: PJ2434
    Quantity: 1
Description: Engraved Grande Crystal Tankard Pitcher
    Include: Deluxe Engraving - 5.00
    Line 1: xxxxxxx
    Line 2: With Gratitude
    Line 3: xxxx Elementary School
    Line 4: 1987 - 2011
    Include: No Giftwrap or Giftcard
I Have Checked Spelling and it is correct: Yes
Do You Want Express Shipping?: Yes - 27.90
It's the same product and school from your big order!

Judging by the fact they're paying $28 for express shipping... I'm guessing they forgot someone in the original batch

And of course, no Nancy order would be complete without killing my SAS balance

    Subject: Automatic Deposit Received
    Date: Tue, 24 May 2011 13:00:06 -0400 (EDT)
    From: shareasale

This email is to confirm your recent AUTOMATIC SYSTEM deposit to shareasale

LOL! Thanks for being my favorite PR affiliate

    Best,
    Billy Kay

PS: We also have confirmation that SAS cookies WORK

All I can do is quote my last post...

Geez Nancy... this is the order that never ends! (Check your SAS stats)

Just got an order and the details looked familiar...
Yep! Check your stats Nancy. Same woman. Same item for the same school.

    Item: PJ2434
    Quantity: 1
Description: Engraved Grande Crystal Tankard Pitcher
    Include: Deluxe Engraving - 5.00
Line 1 (Insure additional charge box is checked): Cherie Hartshorn
    Line 2: With Gratitude
    Line 3: Bishop High School
    Line 4: 1997 - 2011
    Include: No Giftwrap or Giftcard
If this is a year round school, looks like your set for a long time

    Thanks again for your efforts,
    Billy Kay

And you thought life would be easier as a merchant instead of an affiliate? Now you know the truth! Not easier, just different!

JC... we just sold an order to someone who lives on Circle Drive in Castle Rock!

That's either where you or Jen Live, or the motel we stayed at when we visited you guys.

In all seriousness, when we start out in affiliate marketing we're told "It's easy. Just place a link and get an easy sale"

We then find out it's not that easy. You have to pick the right merchant, with the right product, your site has to be compatible with the merchant, etc.

In this case, it worked as pitched.

When we find a merchant that converts, we wonder why all our sales are twenty bucks. Don't customers ever place thousand dollar sales?

We learn that the BIG sales are called in (non commissionable). Who the heck would order a large sale online site-unseen. Bummer! We never get the juicy sales!

Yet this customer DID place a large order - and did it online. Again, this order worked as pitched.

The affiliate, the Network, and the merchant all did their job to instill trust to the customer.

We're also told that once we put up a link, we get residual income forever - due to cookies.

We quickly learn that some merchants offer 1-day cookies. There are cookie thieves out there. Some merchants actually do stuff behind the scenes to not pay repeat orders.

Again, as this is the third sale with the same cookie, this order worked as pitched.

In short, if the right affiliate (related site to merchant)...

    Finds a fair merchant (I won't do a shameless self-plug-LOL)

on a good Network (they don't allow parasites) like Shareasale

then everything comes together the way it's supposed to.

Nancy, on the off-chance Goog indexes the stuff in quotes, can you alter the name of the school and the recipient's name in case they ever google themselves and see us talking about them

    Best,
    Billy

It's the way it's supposed to work. Congrats to both of you for the repeat sales.
