    Minor gripe about hosting renewals
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed an aggressive push for early renewals by hosting companies..?

Last year I fell for an early SSL Certificate renewal - thought I was being diligent (one less thing to remember!), and when I asked about the 2 month refund for the remaining balance of the term, I was told there was no credit for early renewal.

This year they sent the renewal 7 weeks early - only reason I bring this up is I just renewed using my own 12 month calendar.

It seems like a bit of a cash grab to me..

So the renewal term overlaps and supercedes the current term? That's theft plain and simple.

When was the SSL cert going to expire? What was the expiration date after you renewed?

Usually service provider send notification at least a week earlier for clients and their own comfort.

Well this very important. If the renewal date is before expiration, then I can only say, it is nothing but a crime of convenience
