I've been seeing the date 1969 showing up in log files and emails for when the event occured???

These are happening on different servers and accounts. I brushed it of the first time or 2 but now its freaking me out.

Is it just me or anyone else seeing 1969 showing up?

    Yes.

I got my first real six-string.
    Bought it at the five-and-dime.
Played it till my fingers bled.
It was the summer of '69.

missed Woodstock. Heard about a music festival about an hour North of me (in NYC then) but couldn't get a babysitter. Definitely not what I expected, so probably just as well.

my best year was 1968. everything went downhill after that.

Well, I was minus two years old that year, so I've no idea. '1969' is a classic Iggy and the Stooges song though, if that's any help.

It was a great year for me and my wife. 1969 was the year that saw both of us come into this world.

How can you forget the 1969 Mets!!! It was also the 1969/1970 season that the Jets won the superbowl. These was the two key events of 1969.

But 1968 was a year of grteat turmoil. It was 1968 that both Martin Luther King and Robert f Kennedy was assassinated. It was also in 1968 that Gary Seven was transported back to Earth and took over the launch of a rocket that was carrying an orbiting nuclear station. The 'malfunctioning' rocket detonated just several miles above the former soviet union scaring the superpowers to refrain by putting up these orbiting platforms.

Unfortunately I remember MLK being killed. It happened on my 4th birthday and I was watching the evening news. The nieghborhood I grew up in was very pro-integration etc... I identified with what he stood for even at that early age.

BUT 1969 is still showing up in mysterious places. Other entities must be using as a default date also.

Suzi, what do you mean when you write that "1969" keeps showing up in mysterious places? Which mysterious places? In what context is it used?

I keep seeing it in the date line for emails sent to me...albeit junk mail. Also in my log files for different visitors, and bots.

It seems other places but its one of those things...where did I see tha?, I know I've seen it before...kind of a thing

Don't forget the Superbowl, Joe Nameth and the Jets pound the Colts, I was bornduring the game (1/12/69)! My dad had tickets to the Superbowl, stayed home with my mom instead, its the only superbowl out of the first 25 he missed! (I think he still holds a grudge LOL)

Happy New Year to all ABWers!

    Okay Suzi, mystery solved.

Whenever a program includes a date field that retrieves info from a database it will include a default date just in case the database lacks that info. For whatever reason 1969 seems to be a common default. (I'm pretty sure I've seen it in MS programs.) Other apps and operating systems might use other dates, but it doesn't mean a blessed thing really.

Nothing mysterious about this at all.

As for 1969 it was momentous for many reasons, some good and some bad, much like any other year really.
