Angie's List threatening to cancel inactive affiliates
Recently just started promoting Angie's List and we get this email:

In an effort to keep our list of active publishers current and up-to-date, we will expire your account from the Angie’s List Affiliate Program if no sale activity is recorded by July 5, 2011. We urge you to increase your promotional efforts and start generating sales if you would like to remain in our program.
I know, should contact them, tell them how we plan or are marketing them and salvage the relationship.

But come on - this just isn't affiliate friendly...

Which subject? Merchants terminating inactive affiliates or Angie's List?

Have done both - just pointing out that Angie's List is another merchant who appears to be unfriendly towards affiliates...

I took them off my sites a while back. One day when I was checking links I noticed that they were running Google AdSense ads on every page that the links went to.

    What a leak.

Haven't seen any Adsense ads - perhaps they removed them or are buried?

Doesn't make sense to me. How does it hurt them if you haven't sent sales yet (or recently). Seems really pushy, what if you were on vacation, tied up with another project, anything... You could turn out to be someone who sends them a lot of sales but a letter like that could piss you off and cause you to not sign back up (and send sales) once you get ready to use them.

CJ did the same to me- twice - and even though I had commission monies in my account, sales simply weren't consistent, and the CJ account was purged..
