Active Users Viewing This Thread Uniformity
Ok now that I'm logging in again, can we please have uniformity in the stylesheets for the Active Users Viewing This Thread display box?

Over the years I found it worked best up top before the 1st post.

Definitely the best spot for for it. It's a real pain when you have to go hunt for it.

Yeah, another vote for getting them all back up at the top.

Yes, it can be fixed. I see it varies now that you mentioned it.

It will be fixed best if I can describe the scope of the issue well. Has anyone pinned down the trend? It is specific to given subforums or entire site categories, however right now I haven't tracked down which ones.

It's at the top in these ones:
    http://www.abestweb.com/forums/midni...on-146138.html
    http://www.abestweb.com/forums/calif...al-146133.html

It's at the bottom in this one:
    http://www.abestweb.com/forums/greg-...er-145914.html

The challenge is that this is a template issue, which means its not as easy as changing the CSS and then changes are seen everywhere. The vBulletin templates are specific to each subforum on the site, and child subforums inherent the parent templates when they are created - after that the child templates are also independent. So for example, it looks like every subforum in the OPM section has active members listed at the bottom of their threads:
Outsourced Program Managers - ABestWeb Affiliate Marketing Forum

Thats one entire section that needs straightened out. No biggy, but what other sections are like that? I will go look, but if anyone wants to specify forums where they notice the problem, and mention it here, that will ensure it gets fixed accurately... There are a lot of subforums here, too many.

Not sure if it's related but same with the flag a post, the triangle. In this section it's upper right, some other places it's lower left, like the CJ forum.

It's at the top in these ones:
Today's challenge: Is there any merchant I can substitute for Amazon?
CA Affiliate-Nexus Tax Appears to be Done Deal

It's at the bottom in this one:
Have you talked to an affiliate manager?
It gets moved in a lot of the sponsored forums when they redecorate to suit. The first two mentioned are forum default formats, the 3rd one there is a sponsored forum. I asked about this a few months back and that was the answer I got.

That's horse hockey because it's already in the post section, so it's not affected by any header or CSS customization.

I looked into it more last night. It appears to stem back to the main category sections primarily. When the design on the main category sections was done, like the OPM section, the things were put in a different place than the standard layout. Then, as OPM sections were added below that, their design was copied from that same main category with the wrong layout. So the main OPM category has the layout a bit off, and as a result pretty much every subforum off it is off in the same way. Same goes for a couple other big categories.

Allow time to pass, add a bunch of subforums, water, daylight, and eventually you have where we are now - a LOT of subforums with different positioning for those items. Each subforum has its own templates, and specific sections of those templates need moved around.

I'll be doing the moving around, starting with the main categories first, then their subsections. Each one is a fair portion of manual labor, and will take some time. No reason it can't be corrected, just takes time.

Should be fixed everywhere. I was wrong, and the templates are actually inheriting. After looking at it closer, I made a couple quick changes, and I believe the "users currently viewing this thread" should always be at the top of the thread now, anywhere you look on ABW.

Next on my hitlist - the report post button uniformity.

Let me know if its still not right, and let me know where. Thank you.

Got the report post button moved everywhere.

Looks like I got them both. Report any current layout problems to me, if you notice them.
