(I didn't post this in the Search Engine Insight forum because it has a potentially serious impact on AdWords campaings).

Since about 1200 GMT today a great deal of AdWords traffic is getting directed to incorrent URLs. Basically, the last portion of the URL is being reversed. I've had at least 18% of clicks fail in this respect, and others are reporting similar problems.

I don't know if this is an issue with UK data centers or what and the information is sketchy, but you might want to check your error pages or double-check your ads to make sure they're running properly.

There's a thread at WebmasterWorld and also this other forum.

Well, I posted a bug report a few mins ago, but the problem has been happening for about 12 hours according to my error logs. I didn't know what was causing the problem, and I don't know if it's all ads or just some.

    Check those error logs!

That might explain some freaky referrers I've had on some Shareasale clicks. Coming from Google searches where I neither have pages indexed nor ads bid on.

At least the ones I've seen are relevant to the merchant they're being directed to, but I'd be more comfortable with having my own traffic to myself, and others to themselves.

Oh shit. I just paused all of my campaigns. I just checked some of my ads and they're going to the wrong pages, non existent pages.

It looks like this may have been fixed now, I'm not seeing the same errors on the search queries I tested on.

It looks to me as if a quarter of clicks were landing on 404s due to the corrupt URL issue. I can't tell how many may not of even reached my site though.

Some users were clicking on the invalid URL more than once, making the problem worse.

Saw it too. Was cutting off my bookmark appended to the end - which was important to land them in the right area.

It's now working correctly again. They must have fixed it.
