    Leaky Merchants...
Where to post about "Leaky Merchants"?

Doesn't appear to be a logical place for it.

In the network forums - No good. Can be on multiple networks
    ParasiteWare - Define ParasiteWare...
Midnight CAfe' - No good. Should be in an area of it's own.

What I see missing are Forums that create a call to action. For affiliates to see, in their face, whenever they are browsing for something to read.

Action begets action. One affiliate posts about a leaky or unethical merchant in a SPECIFIC forum and others will remember there is a forum to post leaky merchants in.

ABW needs to get back to ousting of merchants. Every merchant YOU oust has the opportunity to be educated.

Am I off base here? I don't think so...

I'm all for outing leaky merchants. There is an unethical merchant forum, that's not really being used - Unethical Merchants - ABestWeb Affiliate Marketing Forum

Would that fall under unethical tho? I'm not sure. I know I don't like it but and this is one thing a lot of people don't remember.

You have the merchant and then you have the affiliate program. With some, the affiliate manager has a lot of control of what happens, what you see on the merchant site, not many tho and more likely a smaller merchant. But I think most of the time, what's on the site, the affiliate program/manager has no say whatsoever. They might want the leaky stuff off themselves, it's just not their call. That's just how some merchants monetize their site. Not sure if I would call that unethical. So maybe not that forum I linked too.

Maybe how it's kind of done now. In the network forum where they have a program, maybe tag it or something. Not sure.

It belongs in Unethical Merchants - ABestWeb Affiliate Marketing Forum even if its not intentional but naive. You post it and I will link it. Then will ping the affiliate manager. Might be what they need to get management to see it as a negative.

My thought is it gets buried in > ParasiteWare > Unethical Merchants

Will an affiliate know to look there? But if there were a forum that screams "LEAKY MERCHANTS" - certainly would grab more attention and perhaps more participation. Leaky Merchants is something even the newest of newbs can identify - and call out...

We can go with this http://www.abestweb.com/forums/uneth...5D-146732.html

Unless you feel that it needs a specifc subforum. We are trying to combine forums but if this will get more attention I am all for it.

Why not give it a try the way you have it.

I just think that if a forum SCREAMED "Leaky Merchant/s" that it would catch the eye and perhaps garner more participation...

A merchant having leaks is likely a bad business decision, but I really wouldn't call it UNETHICAL.

That said, some of the old discussions about merchants at SAS (and other places) that were driving traffic through affiliate links to sites that were nothing but ad doorways... THAT'S unethical.

Leaky is not unethical; shouldn't be in that section.

We are working on a better layout for those forums and I see Leaky as its own sub forum.

Haven't seen a sub-forum for Leaky Merchants. Wanted to bring another to the forefront...

I am already doing that Randy and have been for many years. Doesn't hurt for affiliates to point a merchant to a thread via their direct email. That's how I first heard about ABW and became a member.
