HORRIBLE performance on this whole forum lately
Has anyone else had the problems I have lately (last 4-5 days at least) in both accessing this forum and navigating from page to page or section to section? It's so slow that it's almost totally unusable.

It used to be so zippy and fast. What's up?

I am not having issues, sent a report to iNet. That said I have had issues in the last year and when checking with other mods they didn't. There have been periodic updates and we had an outage last month. Let us know any particulars such as ISP, when you generally read the forum, etc.

Not any problems here. Just to mention, I recently trashed Firefox & installed from scratch again (just saved my bookmarks). Getting rid of LSOs (super cookies), regular cookies, clearing cache, dropping add-ons & themes didn't even work.

I no longer have problems with PopShops updating either.

Joyaz, let me know if you continue to have issues. It looks like others aren't seeing it (I haven't), but I'd be interested in talking directly about what you are trying exactly and what you are seeing.

We haven't had any server/db issues lately, so its not an attack or anything of that nature we've seen affecting site performance in the past.

Matt - yesterday and today performance has been fine for me. The site loads fast and it's quick navigating from page to page. Sure wasn't the case for almost a week before that however.

I have the Popshops forum bookmarked so I generally enter from that point. Days ago it was taking FOREVER to load when I'd hit that bookmark. Then forever to get to any other section. (I've cleared cache and all that jazz which shouldn't really matter with PHP, right?)

Could have been some connection along the "superhighway" between the site and me in AZ I guess. Glad it's fast now!

I'm glad also. Performance problems for individuals can be difficult to help much with, and you already had the basics covered with clearing cache and such.

There is a lot of javascript/ajax and caching for any vbulletin site, so while its built on PHP, there are other browser things which can cause problems though.

You are quite possibly on the right track that it could have been a network related problem somewhere along the line - if it were site/server related, we are always quickly buried in upset member reports.
