August 4th, 2011, 12:23 PM #1Please define "TM bidding"
As I am new to the affiliate world there are concepts that I don't understand yet.
I have run across the terms trademark bidding and trademark poaching. As far as I can tell this means don't have a domain name containing the product or company TM name.
Is that the extent of it?
There are thousands of sites with product names in the domain. Is this a legal issue or just a personal choice by each individual company?

Usually TM bidding means, let's say you're an affiliate of Petco and they say no TM bidding. That means when you do PPC, not to bid on the term petco. That's their TM/trademark.
And I would never buy a domain with somebody's TM in it, you risk losing it and other potential issues.

Thanks for the reply.
sometimes an odd comment somewhere just makes me scratch my head. At least this one wasn't keeping me up at night.
