Founded in June 2000, when the Internet was still in its early years, Octopus Travel took shape when its parent company, Gullivers Travel Associates (GTA), saw the Internet as a possibility to experiment with new distribution channels. What began as a trial soon became one of the most successful business stories of the travel sector. The rest, like they say, is history.

    The logo
The friendly octopus logo has become a symbol of a fresh and out-of-the-box way of doing business. The Octopus Travel website provides instant real-time availability and confirmation of hotels via the significant inventory the company holds worldwide.

Over the years, Octopus Travel has widened its reach substantially both as a business and in its offerings. It is now a global company providing online hotel reservations in over 90,000 properties worldwide. The key to Octopus Travel's unique market position is our relationship with GTA. A tour operator with over 30 years of experience, GTA has enabled us to tap into its wealth of hotel inventory worldwide. Additionally, we are consistently sourcing for and partnering with other hotel suppliers to increase our inventory so that we can continue to provide our consumers with one of the widest selections of hotels around the world.

    The future
Travel is one of the largest and fastest growing industries on the Internet. Acknowledging that a company cannot be competitive and successful, whilst remaining stagnant, we continue to develop and enhance our website and booking tool by investing in the best of technology. Through continued innovation, Octopus Travel aims to provide our customers with personalised content based on their individual needs.
