Glad all is safe.. my wall was buzzing here in Toronto.

On a work-related note, it reminds to put that hosting back-up solution in place... one major power outage is all it takes to knock sites offline.

    Funny Trust

It was interesting watching my FB news feed when this was happening.. connections I have from Virginia to Canada were reporting the quake.. it was only 3.5 miles underground so wide spread tremors..

I am sure though it's nothing for you west coasters

Was at JFK when it hit and thought it was baggage carts running under the building. They gave an announcement 20 minutes later to stay by your gate in case they evacuate. I watched where I was walking to see what was above. Boarded on time and headed to Salt Lake City airport, turbulence on the flight was much worse. Bloomberg came on TV and wasn't significant in NYC but freaked people out. Last one of this magnitude in Virginia was 100 years ago.

hee hee, like a dummy I sat thru the whole thing thinking hmmmmm I felt it when it happened and watched the news and didn't see anything really too bad. Shoulda known since it was you it would be somethin like that.

Never been in an earthquake before and don't think I like them. lol Only thing that worries me are the natural gas leak possibilities. News did say a few of them had been reported. Know of people who's houses have been leveled and one who was killed so am a bit paranoid I guess about that.

Hubby called to check on me cos where he was working he felt it, too. Fortunately wasn't real bad cos he was working while up on a ladder at the time.

Is funny, thought of AffiliateHound when it happened cos figured you'd be at the summit.

Same day in Colorado we had several including a 5.3 which was felt as far away as 350 miles.

Since our ground material is different we didn't experience what the East coast did with theirs.

Figure the next one will be further out West somewhere. Can only push and shove plates so much.

    Glad everyone is safe...

How many states were hit by the earthquake. I see photos of bridge breaking, fires and crumpled buildings in some areas. But it has a description of West Coast. So big damage.

How bad is it in Washington? Are there buildings damaged?

Wouldn't get too cocky. Japanese quake moved Japan 8 feet and the earth's axis 4 inches.

I gotta tell ya, I have a new respect for what happened over there after feeling my basement slab move an inch or so under my feet.

Yep, we're going to start locking down tomorrow. I'm smack in the middle of Delaware which is looking to see a full on Cat 2 starting with the leading edge end of Saturday.

Right, what I should have done is added a little extra to my sentence:

Can only push and shove plates so much before they give way. Meaning I think the West coast of the USA is getting shoved upon...

I went through a 6.9 quake when I was stationed in Japan when I was in the Army.

When we tried to get out of the building we could not stand without it knocking you down so we tried crawling on our knees and couldn't do that either so we had to pull with our arms and slide on our stomach to ever get out of the building.
