BulkNutrition.com Lowers Commission Due to the Success of Affiliate Program!
The title isn't a joke. See the email I received below.

"Due to the ongoing success of our affiliate program we've decided to adjust our commission structure in order to accommodate more of the frequent requests we get for exclusive affiliate deals. We appreciate your support and look forward to our continued relationship."

They lowered the per sale commission from $8.00 to $3.50.

I'd hate to see what the commission structure would have changed to if their program wasn't as successful.

What about a commision increase or exclusive deal for the affiliates that MADE their program a success...??

    This is beyond a joke.

I have had merchants tell me they couldn't sustain a 10% discount and a 10% commission (as an example). So they offered either a 10% commission with no discount or a 5% commission with a 5% discount.

The gibberish that Bibby posted makes now sense. It really gets tiring to hear the same disconnect from merchants (and AMs).

To be fair, I emailed the merchant for clarification. I want to make sure the announcement of lower commission that followed the message I posted above wasn't in error.

I got the same message. I emailed also for clarification. I am reserving a full day of work to change my links if I don't get an aswer in 24 hours.
    Cheers.

I've given the merchant some time to respond, so it's time to reveal the merchant.

With bibby's permission I updated the title and moved this to the Unethical Merchant forum. Perhaps Bulk Nutrition and their affiliate manager will see this and respond.

Thanks Chuck. I hope they do see this and respond. It would be nice to see what logic they see in this move.

I suggest you send another email with a link to this thread just as a backup.

Ah, not this again, unethical? Unethical is a pretty strong word and I think should only be used when there are real unethical things happening.

There are things merchants do that don't make sense, might make sense when you hear their side of the story, mismanaged, maybe they're new and learning, maybe they are trying to get over but again, I would only use unethical when it actually is and you know this for sure.

I understand your comment and unfortunately we don't have an in-between spot. I guess it would suffice to move it back to the Shareasale forum.

Today I received this email. What's goin on there?

"We wanted to let our affiliates know that we have decided to take our affiliate program offline while we restructure our site and our company. We hope to return shortly. We have enjoyed working with you and look forward to a continuing relationship when our program comes back online."

I think we should go back to the original title (BulkNutrition.com lowers commissions due to success of the program). Changing the title makes the first couple of posts confusing. While the end game for the program was to shut down and refocus, the original intent of the thread was to show how this merchant was treating their affiliates. In the future, they might rebrand and restart an affiliate program and this thread could show how they treated their affiliates.

    What they did:
Send an email to their affiliates about their success and then lower commissions.
    Then close the program.
    ???rebrannd and restart the program

Bulk Nutrition and Da Muscle did this in the last two years. I think they won't trick anybody for the third time. I for one I'm sick of changing links everytime this affiliate manager decides to take the entire program offline and then online. It's bye-bye forever Emilly. At least you should reply to my emails.
