Yeah, just caught that on Attack of the Show. Sad news, only 56.

RIP, very sad to hear this. Steve was an incredible innovator. Users of Apple products are certainly passionate...very few brands can say this.

I am sad to hear this and just caught it in the car. Was really hoping he was going to beat this one and make a comeback. I think he left Apple on a strong footing and it will continue to innovate.

Such a shame. As an avid Apple hater (by way of envy), all I can say is that my animosity was driven by Mr. Jobs constant innovation, understanding of customer, and vision.

Tomorrow, his industry will be pushed far less hard. And for that, we all lose.

Thoughts and prayers to his family, to Apple, and to his STAUNCH fans.

from an ex-mac production designer - God Bless You Steve Jobs
A truly special person in the digital world. He will be remembered forever. I had an Apple IIe growing up and ended up using mac towers, clones, and all the other stuff over the last 30-odd years.

I'll look at my ipod differently now, as all the awesome Apple stuff I got to mess with over the years.

    GOD BLESS YOU, STEVE!

I don't he was given as much credit for the advancement of computers and animation. Didn't realize that he resigned from Apple in 1985 to join Pixar which released Toy Story as their first commercial success.

Agree with everything that's already been said and am very, very sorry for his family. They lost him far too soon. Wished he would've won his battle with cancer as well.

He saw a group of LucasFilms graphic animators, saw the future in graphics animation, bought the group for 5 or 10 million, named it Pixar, then later sold it to Disney for (all-stock) 7.4 Billion. It also made him the largest Disney shareholder. Not a bad investment at the time.
