Haiko - I was just shocked ( yeah, right )that they think they can screw us from several orifices... Can't wait to sign up with my e-mail and website urls for the opportunity to earn either 2.00 or 50 cents per new user download ( conflicting info on their affiliate site ) so I can further enable them to suck up my commissions. Unfortunately, there will be many idiots who will blindly promote this.

Loved the descriptions at their page describing the affiliate program.

"Users do not have to do anything different from what they normally do to use WhenUShop. WhenUShop simply shows up at the moment when it is needed."

"WhenUShop shows information and deals for the shopping site a user is visiting..."
[They do?]

[It get's better]
"We will pay you quarterly with a minimum balance of $100."

"That's all you need to do…we will do the rest!"

I'll bet they will...

In this day and age of corporate ethics under attack, we can safely say " ShopNow/WhenU and their clones" are all a bunch of thieves. Amazing that after 4 years of promoting affiliate enabled merchants I can count the honest ones using fingers on 2 hands. The online Advertising industry has never graduated beyond the lowest form of employment, and is run by con-artists, liers and eyeball whores seeking to dupe shady merchants out of money. The sooner affiliate programs go 100% pay-per-sale ( not lead) the sooner we stop getting suckered into their revenue promises trap. An honest affiliate network would impose a 100.00 fine payable to the affiliate for any merchant who gets 1000 targeted clicks from me or you with no reported sales.

I wonder what WhenU and Gator would say to their new affiliates about their business plan? They surely couldn't be honest and tell them what really happens: "oh yes, it's such a great program, you'll really love it! Once visitors to your site click on our link, sign up, and download us, you'll never get another commission from anyone, because we will intercept and get it instead! "

Let me rush to build some revenue pages for them, so they can steal money out of my pockets! Or, better yet, why not just send them a check for their trouble? It'll save them the bandwidth!

 No thanks!

Do I have my parasiteware confused? I thought WhenU stopped intercepting affiliate links...

(not that I would EVER suggest promoting them, just looking for clarification on which one it was that changed their program)

Anyone still wondering why coupons/rebates/Freebees etc. are leading all affiliate programs straight to the toilet? This is the lifeblood of the parasite link hijackers and in the end will cause affiliate networks & contributing merchants a huge black eye. Read the merchant list at www.pricebandit.com and you'll see the who's who of scumware merchants. Everyone of the Whenu/Shopnow/pricebandit merchants also show up as supporters for Gator -Kazaa Morpheus and spamming opt-out list brokers pushed by the big three networks as duperaffiliates. The networks not only get a cut for recruiting merchants to these hijackers but they also offer the hijackers special daily automatic coupon/rebate specials so no human has to perform any task to steal our commissions at the point of sale. Nice job CJ -BF -LS on automating the interlopers who pose as merchants on your trusted networks. Your only problem is trying to figure out how to eliminate normal site owner affiliates who links and pages these wanks feed off of....

Amazingly ColdWater Creek who is Linkshare's special invited guest merchant shows up in all the apparel categories at Whenu's pricebandit.com. Are we getting cross messages here?

Can someone explain what the issue is with pricebandit? Looks like an affiliate site to me.

I know it's owned by WhenU, but didn't they change their market strategy so that they no longer snag affiliate links?
