I was just looking at, and saw the following companies listed as working with WhenU:
    American Blind and Wallpaper
    British Airways
Lycos (lycos shopping) (Payless Shoe Store)

Has this changed since the update (besides Amazon removing them)?

Does this concern the Whenu/Shopnow funding...???

Announced Todya..Network Commerce files Chapter 11

Network Commerce Inc., a Seattle-based Internet services company, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from creditors. The company did not return calls, and the filing doesn't list the company's current assets or liabilities.

As of June 30, the company had total current assets of about $3.3 million, compared with total current liabilities of $6.6 million, according to an August press release reporting second-quarter financial results. Its financial position was markedly worse than six months earlier, when the company reported total year-end current assets of about $7.2 million and total current liabilities of $6.7 million.

Network Commerce's cash, equivalents and short-term investments balance as of June 30 was $1.6 million, compared to $2 million at the end of last year. The filing is just the latest chapter of troubles for the once high-flying dot-com.

In July, founder Dwayne Walker stepped away from his chief executive position, and was replaced by Scott Dickson, the company's chief financial officer. Walker retained the title of chairman of the company, which shifted business directions several times as it burned through more than $300 million dollars.

Founded as TechWave Inc. in 1994, the company changed its name to Inc. (Is this the Whenu/ parasite team?) before changing again a year later to Network Commerce. During that time, it acquired, then sold or closed several businesses including its Go Software Inc. unit and its online trading company.

Walker took the company public in a 1999 initial public offering, and eventually raised some $325 million in debt and equity. By last August, however, the company had run afoul of Nasdaq rules on shares trading above $1 and was delisted. Its shares now trade over the counter for about 5 cents.

Network Commerce said last year that it would concentrate on just a few businesses in its restructured form, including domain registration and Web hosting at, commerce at and online marketing services at

Sure hope this spells some doom to the Whenu parasite.

Believe the shopnow referenced here is something completely different. Here's a picture of their old banner
Maybe you'll recognize it. Wishful thinking though.
