I was checking an ABW'ers site for them today and got a the below whenu popup on one of their pages which had several links to florists. I've cropped the pic to just to whenu pop to protect the site.

Continued next post... (wish you could post multipe pics in one post)

The merchant on the pop intrigued me so I clicked through. I was taken to http://www.whenuflora.com . See pic below. Yep, whenu's very own online florist shop. After I bet of digging through the site to see who was behind the branded store, turns out to be growerflowers.com. The kick is I found out most by clicking on the join affiliate program on the whenuflora site.

    The moral of the story:

Just because a merchant runs an independent program, offers branded storefronts, is not on ebates list....doesn't mean they are parasite free. Anyone who is operating a branded store with growerflowers may want to invite them here.

But then I got a chuckle out of this one.

So how does it feel to you growerflowers when you are on the receiving end? You see the affiliate you set up a store for really doesn't care who they divert the traffic from or which merchant gets them a commission.

Just for everyone to know... That affilate site was one of mine.

Now, Anyone have a Cease & Desist email that I can borrow? Or should I send an invoice to them?

Here is the latest poop on Growerflowers. I sent them the following email:

    <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Hi Melissa,

I came across this thread at the ABestWeb message board:

    http://abw.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&...9&m=2066068423

Is it true that Growerflowers is affiliated with WhenU.com?

    Thanks,
    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

    This is their reply:

    <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Hi Ernie,

He probably just looked on a list of their affs and checked if WhenU's name was on it. Then he responded, wondering a bit about the strange email that asked about whether WhenU was their affiliate...didn't click the link, and promptly forgot all about it.

Nice sleuthing there Ms.B. Basically the merchants at WhenU and Gator are the huge RED FLAG list for spotting those most likely to float in the affiliate waste treatment plant. No AM running these programs see any ethical delima to advertising at the point of sale on competitors sites. Pimping for the Ad Whores is part and parcel of their job description as they devise ways to feed the greedy BHO's by duping normal affiliates into providing popup alert targets.

    Mike & Charlie ...

If they won't adopt and feed a bird ..flip them one! BBQ some Gator and remember to flush WhenU..
