    Odd Datafeed Format & Process
What's with the datafeeds on Shareasale?

When I download them there is no header column and you have to do a search and replace to add your affiliate ID?

Why not have the header and affiliate ID's in them instead of making us manually add them every time we download a datafeed?

Am I missing something here or is this a strange datafeed process?

I don't like it at all...

Well it's not a very good process, I must say.

It's never bothered me, as it's such a simple process.

Yes, if you use CJ and AvantLink datafeeds, for example, you'll find a heading row already in place. Does seem odd to me, too, that they have none on SAS. Someone here (was it Sal, perhaps? Or maybe mobilebadboy?) posted something in one of the older threads with this structure for the SAS datafeeds:

    ProductID|Name|MerchantID|Merchant|Link|Thumbnail|BigImage|Price|RetailPrice|Category|SubCategory|Description|Custom1|Custom2|Custom3|Custom4|Custom5|LastUpdated|status|manufacturer|partNumber|merchantCategory|merchantSubcategory|shortDescription|ISBN|UPC|

Whenever I use an SAS feed, I always take the raw text file and 1) search-and-replace YOURUSERID with my userid, and I copy-and-paste that heading row at the beginning of the file.

Bit more to do than with AvantLink and CJ datafeeds, but no big deal.
