    "Pick-Up in Store"
If a visitor clicks an affiliate link to Barnes & Noble, but then rather than having their order completed online and shipped, chooses "Pick-Up in Store", does the affiliate receive their well-earned commission?

If they are like another store that starts with Wal, I really doubt it.

Hello Affiliate Hound , the answer to your question is NO, no commission will be earned. Also, BN does not have a “true” pickup in store option. The customer can reserve online (so customer doesn’t transact, only reserves) and pick- up and pay in store. Therefore there is no commission in the affiliate channel.

    Thank you!

    Thanks for your response.

That is, however, one horrendous leak.

Perhaps they could tweak the site to not show this option for affiliate referrals. That would be a win-win for the affiliate program and increase promotion through that channel.

Great suggestion - Catherine, could this be done?

Do you really think they would ever do that? I doubt it. It's just like phone orders and most gift certificate orders these days. Affiliates just get left out of the equation.

I never even considered that "Pick up at Store" would result in a loss of commissions.

Shoppers determine what has value and they like coupons. Stop manipulating who set the cookie just because you do not like coupon and promotional sites.

Lowes works with pickup and ship to store, but you pay online then pick up at the store.
