I heard that CJ use to deal with DTV and that DTV left CJ members out lots of commissions, is this true?

    Where can I get some info on this? and were there legal dealings in this that are documented ?

    Thanks

    F.B.N.,

    Welcome! <IMG src=http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/welcome.gif>

    DTV = Direct TV?

    If so I know about the Telocity / DirecTV DSL program.

    From the period of Feb 9 - July 20 something (when they we deactivated) They could not interface with the CJ cookie system and as a result sales were not credited to originating affiliates because of it. I personally was on the phone with Judy Kim and her "technical staff" to clarify why not one of my 1,200++ double qualified hits (in a week) did NOT convert into sales, wherein they admitted the above.

    After many hours on the phone with CJ I learned that there was no way to track the "fraud" but when they realized that I paid more in PPC listings in a week than they [CJ] made in overrides of the actual credited sales in a 6 month period and subsequently deactivated them. Now that they are "reactivated" and a $30 lower commission they try to make affiliates think that they do track now.

    Thank you for your response, I appreciate it.

    I am a moderator for the SFI Marketing Group Discussion Board with well over 10,000 registered members. I see posts all the time by people who market Direct Tv DSL, some use PPC and get thousands of hits with 0 sales, there has been issues raised by our members that by calling the 1-800 line via our DSL gateways that the person at DTV has no idea who SFI is or ever ask for a sponsor #, since a good % of people will more than likely call this # to register we are wondering if proper credit is given at this point of sale to the referrer.

    So by the sounds of things in your first reply you dont feel they have corrected things so proper credit will be given ?

    I need to discuss this futher if you will grant me the opportunity.

    Whats your honest opinion on DTV DSL ?

    F.B.N.,

    I, as many affiliates complain about merchant 800 redirects and I think that they [DirecTV(aseline)] specifically lead the customer to it theirs to "fulfill" the order. While 99% of the customer service people have no idea who the affiliate sites are NOR ask for a referral code the AID (which I have suggested manytimes to CJ) I think that DTV are very unreliable in their "tracking" online and off.

    My honest opinion of Judy Kim (affiliate Manager) and The Program is very bad I still don't believe that they track nor pay properly/accordingly (ie all four ads on CJ show a 7day EPC of $0.00 and they just batched on the 10th!).

    If I had the time I would have set up a Covad reseller deal and offered it as an affiliate program, maybe this would be the route for you/SFI.

    I HATE DTV and their malarkey/screwing of affiliates and will continue to be a pain in their @ss till they go offline!

    Every single one of their DSL service providers are in bankrupsy. Read between the lines and broadband Industry news and you'll see these hawkers can't guarantee even they will get paid for subscribers. They will try every trick in the book to get those names and sell them off to local DSL and cable modem network provider telemarketers. The dead leads ( those with no local service due to distance from a Telco Dslam) get sold to spamm lists.
