Hi Ya Haiko,

hummmm... yer not a real high roller performer at all... I have been with cc for months now and I send many visitors to CC but alas I have the same results as you do - diddly squat in sales!

A couple of reasons from experience that come to mind... their downloads are more often have faults or errors and has caused my lil ol' 'puter to crash out on many occasion - actually everytime - not quite a customer confidence booster you would expect from a company of the caliber of CC...

secondly... (not from experience as I use notepad to do my sites), the net is literally overflowing with crackz for their software, so sales would be very few and far between.

Finally, why would anyone download and pay for HTML editing software when most browsers now have their own built in... NS has composer, IE has a cut down version of FP and office has Front Page.

I can see the trinkets of the flash and javascript being remotely attractive but seriously I doubt many serious web peeps would even bother with that these days.

Just my 2 cents worth

Happy 2002 to youuuuuuuuuuuuu!

On my High-Traffic-We-Don't-Buy-Squat page they actually do about as well as anyone -- one measly sale per 1,000 clicks -- they do however, have a lower than avereage click-through rate on that site (don't even ask how many impressions).

Yeah, we were affiliates of theirs even before they opened a program at cj, and have never had a sale with them. Trellian isn't doing much better, btw, we have had one sale since the first week of carrying their links. Part of the problem with Trellian is that the downloads are free and don't exactly deactivate when the time is up, you just get a count down of how many days you've been using it.

LOL ... ok, what ever you say

-----------

@ALL,

Coffee Cup has over 8,000,000 end users so obviously some people do buy it

My point is not the usability or futures but the Tracking of sales (again)!

No One can represent they have not gotten ANY sales in 3 months (at least) with CJ, when they can amass 8,000,000 in only 5 years!

LETS GET REAL HERE!

Find a product or service to replace them with. That's what I try to do, time permitting, whenever a merchant doesnt perform. I do have some non-performers at my site, the affiliate/merchant types, which are all lead based. I keep them just to add theme related content to my site, otherwise I wouldn't be "The Coupon Guy" - lol.

Actually, their claim is "Download or Order our Award Winning Web Design Software now. See why over 8,000,000 humans already have!"

Having worked in the software industry before, I can promise you that "end-users" and "people who paid for the software" are NOT the same thing.

I can promise you that the bulk of that number is people who have downloaded, not bought. Check download.com -- over 6.5 million downloads of various coffeecup products from just that one source. Trust me, that number is included in their 8 million figure.

It's *really* easy to get people to download free software, it's much tougher to get them to actually purchase it.

Oh, and maybe it's CoffeeCup that should be complaining about the tracking -- I've had two sales for them in the past three months (one in October and one in November)... so either the NA doesn't mean NO SALES, or Coffeecup has incorrect stats showing.

Maybe they're lurking here? I just had a coffee cup sale! That content site of mine never has any sales (unless I buy through my own links, lol)!

Hmmm...let's see who else can I complain about not having any sales with?

i dont know about cj tracking, it works ok for me, as well as any trackings gonna, i guess, but its crazy that those links have an EPC of N/A because that should only occur if the links have not been clicked 100 times in the respective time period, all i can say about that is ask david elam

i just wanted to post here because of another couple of sucky, sucky program banners ive seen here at abestweb

the first one is websitetoolbox
get rid of these losers, they are one of my worst performers ever, i sent them a lot of targeted traffic, i mean A LOT!
for a period of around 3 months i had moreover.com, pollit.com and websitetoolbox on my page, moreover converted really well, pollit made me LOTS of money and outperformed moreover
strange that i gave all three programs equal prominence and websitetoolbox didnt convert once and they where a per/lead program at the time, those f*ckers definitely belong in merchant fraud

the other crappy program whos banner i see here at abestweb is for the cj.com referal program, good luck with that one, you may have some luck with it but ive shown that banner as much as anyone has and to a targeted audience too, i wish cj would explain what qualifies as a lead, i think if you dont get a referal every 90 days that you dont get credited for any further sign ups

and one more thing, haiko, i took a look at one of your urls, the search engine one, i cant remember the url now but i noticed that you are advertising gator, whats up with that? i thought you where against parasiteware

We've made a few pennies on the cj referral program. But what I really hope will do the trick is a few hand picked, highly motivated (as in have either no other income options or dream of leaving the office cubicle behind) subaffiliates. Of course, don't forget that you need to trust them like you would your babysitter or your banker.

I know, I know, never trust anyone. But I tell them I'll sick ABW on them if they screw me, and they all huddle in the corner until I smile again.

WEll, I told you I made a sale. On a site that gets 20 visitors a day. And usually no clicks. So it made a great EPC, huh? You think my sale is now the network wide EPC?

That's quite possible, Webmistress--I've been The One for more than one program, maybe CoffeeCup is yours!

It's kind of fun to watch the effects of your sale work through the 7-day EPC, but also pathetic to think that one little sale is really all a merchant has had!

Mistress,

Just think, you will probably make their newsletter stating that our HIGHEST(only) PERFORMER has an EPC of 10 gazillion dollars. Oh Mistress, be proud.
