owe me $4.44 commission for the sale of a printer.

Reversal reason : Invalid CC

Male dog's dangley bits!!!

I personally know the person who bought the printer and they do have it.

The main question is :
When did companies start shipping goods to someone who's credit card is (allegedly) invalid?

>>> Thank you for reading <<<

Edited to add "(allegedly)" because their CC was not, and is not invalid.

I just got a great idea for a new project. All we need to do is open a single account at CJ that would be used by all of us for the sole purpose of testing advertisers. The word would certainly spread throughout the network that there is a band of "Mystery Shoppers" on the loose! This could possibly keep everyone honest all the time, as long as we really made our presence felt from the start!

Ya know, really make an example of that *printer merchant*

It's not the $4.44 its knowing they have done the same thing to countless others that really get me

I am willing to donate time to set this up, anyone else?

Breeze,

I'm in ... but ...

It is not an account at CJ ... it is a single account that we use to buy and submit leads for ... Can be "costly" testing all merchants and all products but we can set it up

It is not an account at CJ ...

Hold on, now I'm lost. Please clarify.

As far as it being costly, it does not have to cost at all. All sales should be credited in real time unless they show "transactions batched" in the advertiser profile.

------------------------------------------

As far as not costing anything, we simply cancel the trans within 72 hours, just wait to see if the lead shows up, the be cancelling the order we can also rate the site on ethics in their return policy.

What do you think?

I'll set up a real, but bogus, ombudsman's CC account for us all to use so we can test ... I'll email all with the specifics for each who want to use .... mwahahahahaah .... this IS what it is all about!

Ooh... that is a downright horrible plan. Its low-down, cunning, devious, despicable and very very naughty.

So where do I sign then?

I got one of those auto-responder type thingies with a message that said they had e-mailed ldlc.com to give me a manual credit, and if nothing had happened (which it hadn't), I had to reply within 48 hours.

I replied after 47 hours 30 minutes. That's more than enough time for them to set things straight.

But as you can see by my complaint above, I'm still waiting to be re-credited for their fraudulent act!

I didn't try the second one you gave me because I got the auto responder reply...

They've had way too much time to respond and correct this merchants blatant fraud. That's 18 days since it was reversed because of an *alleged* invalid credit card.

Fish,

It isn't just this one fraud. Its all the others you didn't detect.

Haiko,

One thing that would be great is an alphabetical list of bad merchants (or good ones) with links to threads about them, or mystery shopper/self purchase test results.

I used to have to search the CJ boards a lot for this stuff when having it in a handy place would have been better.

If you like I'll start a file of names and links.

Francis, this is the only time this merchant has tried this trick with me, other sales I've had from them, were from people I know.

The _same_ person who bought the printer, also bought other things previously from the exact same link on the same site.

I was barely promoting them and it was nice when they had their pay per click thing going

Well, I was going through the hardware merchants today and who should I see but your favourite printer merchant with 'joined' after the name

I checked the chargebacks and found they were around 50% so I dropped them. I'd have done it anyway after your experience.

I only joined their program because I needed French ads for a site in French and they were the only one I could find at CJ.

I've not dropped them yet as I don't know what will happen with the money they owe me if I do. Probably go straight out the window, never to be seen again. When this is resolved, you can be sure I'll be saying "Au revoir, c'etait bien de travailler avec vous... NOT!"

Translation :
Goodbye, it's been nice working with you... NOT!

Haiko, should we simply use a topic here to post results or should I build something that requires a password? I don't know what the point of that would be, except that merchants would not know what their results are, or even if they are listed. Should we register a domain name and go all out woth it? Maybe after a while we would be able to cover all the majot networks? I think I have a domainname we can use. I will make it so that you have to sign up with a valid email address in order to get the password. Then we can start a newsletter surrounding it.

The only problem I can forsee is if someone forgets to cancel an order. Then what?

breeze,

Definitely must be a secret domain and password protected with cookies! PM me with the domain name you have in mind, as I haven't even begun on that aspect of it yet

The deal I'm trying to do with VISA is a totally bogus account number, with a made up name and no real $ in the account so we have no worries on the expenditures, but placement and cancellation of all the orders must be posted in an online ledger on the site along with all the purchase information. The entire project must be managed very strictly to ensure nothing but the truth in all the reporting, the program will have many requirements!

Just a friendly ^bump^ to say, stay away from this theiving merchant at CJ.

LDLC.com Network Performance
Network Earnings
3 month EPC $2.60
7 day EPC $4.48
Charge-back percent 96.40%

Todd, if you're reading this, have you anything to say about why they are still active?
