Go to an invention forum instead of an affiliate marketing forum? Just a guess but then I was always wacky.....

well,I am studying computer animation and wanted to create something that would help.It is a portable workstation solution it will have all the components of a workstation computer but also be part server.(Honestly I am not sure if it's possible but I will soon find out)well, anyway let me tell you about it I wanted it to share resources by that I mean ram, hard drive, mobile, videocard, power supply, and things like that...you will need a usb port to share data and windows xp sp3,windows vista sp2 or windows 7 sp1,and some video card power I mean like the sapphire hd 4650,for an example.it will have software, a dvd to be exact.there will be security features maybe a fingerprint reader,or low jack.Oh and by the way, don't try to steal this I have a poormans patent.basically I wrote down the things I had without pictures, and had sealed it up in an envelope and mailed it to myself.so that in a nutshell is what I am trying to build.

I sold servers and workstations back in 1998-99, seems you are reinventing the wheel. Have you bothered to see what a current workstation consists of? Seems you can buy everything you stated custom configured from Dell already.

This thread is a puzzle to me.

I see Chuck making specific comments that seem to indicate the opening post has something to do with workstations? But I cannot see anything in the thread about workstations.

Any way to clarify what's going on here?

i've seen it in context and am still confused.

what server can't be its own client? even if it's an OS issue, there's always VMWare.
