Thumbs up What do you look at when choosing an affiliate network?
    Hi all,

This is my first post here.

I would like to ask a few questions about what makes you tick in terms of affiliate networks.

    1. Which networks do you use and why? What do these networks have that the others don't?
    2. Which affiliate network do you consider the most innovative and why?
    3. If you had to rank the most important properties of a good network - how would you do it? Is it quick payments, good network/client relationships, a large selection of programs or a combination of these?

Your answers will be much appreciated. I personally use a local affiliate network here in Denmark, as I've not yet moved my affiliate business to a global scale.

David, the question gets asked every year. Do some reading around the forum and you will find your answers.

For me, I couldn't give a damn about networks one way or another. If I've got a website in a particular niche, I'll try to affiliate with the best merchants in that niche no matter which network they are on.

I've never really understood this fascination with networks and people who only work with certain networks. To me it's like only shopping on a particular street because you like the architecture of the buildings.

I'll shop on any street providing the stores are offering what I want.

    • Quality merchants / product selection
    • Great feed tools / creatives
    • Reputation

There are a lot variables that need to be looked at with each of those points.

Have made the mistake in the past of dropping a network solely on issues such as toolbars and parasite affiliates. But not all merchants are dirty and not all clean merchants have great feeds / creatives. Due diligence when selecting a merchant comes first, over a network...

I would certainly avoid those networks with poor payment histories
