    Exclamation You've killed this forum!
sorry to say this, but I think it's the truth.

i see affiliates.bettymills.com is not working anymore! why is that? also the any affiliate links are not working anymore.

I'm tired to see special offers on this forum... instead of helping us with great tips or strategies on how to promote your products.

I don't want to be mean... but I think this is the truth!

Look in the last 30-40 threads. only special offers and no even a single reply from a single person. don't you think something is going wrong? just sayin'...

I like to see big sales made by affiliates, like there was one time... but now nothing!

And also I'm waiting the answer on that thing with links not working!

Thanks for your time and have a nice weekend!

    - NYDAz

    Ndaz,

Our affiliate provider is directtrack (Digital River). They are experiencing a major unprecedented service outtage at their datacenter.

They are keeping their network of clients update constantly throughout the day.

As far as updating this forum, we put links to our weekly newsletters here to give our affiliates idea to market.

I understand the problem with directtrack!

But I want to see more activity in this forum rather than just posting links to newsletter.

I hope you understand my "little" problem

Those guys at Directtrack (Digital River) are in a world of hurt. I'm not happy about it, but not much we can do but wait til they get their act back together.

Heads need to roll after this fiasco. They let down a massive network of activity.

It's looks like signs of life over at Directtrack. Affiliate traffic and orders are popping in again, so our account must have been restored this morning...

Looks like the restore files used were from a prior date. The back end system shows that reporting data terminated on 2/7 and restarted today. We should be getting more detail from Directtrack on the restore status once they come back up for air.

It's possible the restore is still underway and more data will appear, but probably unlikely.

Ok, well officially we are back.

And I was right, the restore point per directtrack is at 2/7/2012.

    Here is the official word.

    Dear [BettyMills],

We have completed the restore of your DirectTrack system.

We have performed a set of user-tests on your system. Your system is tracking and functioning normally based on these tests, with these exceptions:

    [n/a]

The restore date stamp for your system is: 2/7/2012

This means that the new system reflects stats and activity through this date and time.

Please confirm to us that youve received this message, and let us know if you have any questions.

We appreciate your patience through this process.

    Thank you.

----And this after rounds of messages in which it appeared there were still many unknowns. Even tonight per their homepage:

Thursday afternoon (CST), Digital River experienced an abrupt and extremely rare hardware malfunction that impacted a disk array in one of our data centers. Our vendors have never seen a situation like this before.

So - if you ask me, those folks have gone through a nightmare scenario.

This one looked like something I had never seen from Directtrack before, and for a while there I thought it was going to be a full on catastrophic wipeout, and we would be facing the music along with them. Lots of 'esplainen' to do...

To Directtrack's credit, we have been with them since 2002, and this is the first downtime that I can remember that made me sweat a few beads. In fact their service and uptime has always been exemplary, so it would be unfair to shit all over them now when they have had a bad hair week.

Also, they provided about 100 system update messages during the crisis. They totally over-communicated, which is a virtue.

As far as our affiliates, we have 20 days of lost tracking. So we will come up with a way to pro-rate our affiliates to even things out as fairly as possible. Thanks to all for being so patient.

And lastly, to the folks at Directtrack, you restored the systems. 20 days is a lot of missed data, but it's better than the nuclear scenario I thought we may be facing. I hope you all get some rest soon.

    Regards,

    Vic

Digital River will be analyzing this for weeks to come, I'm sure. Their hair should grow back, eventually.

Well, back to work -- I was finally able to get another datafeed.

2/7 was the restore point they used, so we only have data from prior to that point and starting again on 2/27. The rest is a black hole. So we will need to do some pro-rating to simulate what it might have been if nothing had happened.
