    Merchants successful proven techniques?
    Hi everyone!

    Various fields have certain techniques that have proven records and worked (if not always) but in majority. I wondered are there any techniques that always work in affiliate marketing, because I am new comer and noticed that at one time a particular technique works well and the similar technique will fail if I use it another time

    I take it you are referring to techniques as a merchant/Affiliate Manager to affiliates?

    Chuck you are correct! I am referring to the techniques opted by affiliate managers for their affiliates.

    Aff@, you're in the right forum (the Merchant Best Practices Forum) for a great education for affiliate managers. Start with the stickies and pay special attention to the Consolidated List of Affiliate Friendly Policies and then read everything in sight. When in doubt, don't be afraid to ask.

    Chuck!

    You have mentioned some very good points. But the problem appears when:

    Communication:affiliates not responding to emails (whatever the objective is; either an increased commission, product update, banner update etc). If they are not responding, how can you build a relationship?

    I need suggestions on how to build program reputation.

    You keep sending emails at the frequency of one every two weeks. Forward the last so its included and change the subject line. Personalize and add new paragraph. You have to be offering something worth their while. Some times they don't read your email because they don't recognize you or your program. It becomes a matter of branding yourself.
