Adding links from well known websites?
This is a newb question. I am just getting started with this affiliate marketing stuff.

Can adding a link to a article on a well known mainstream website help my search engine rankings?

Link juice is passed from PAGE to PAGE. If the page you are linking from meets all the link juice requirements, then it can help the page it's linked to.

Spend time creating content and value for your visitors. Stop chasing the inbound link pipe dream...

hey thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

I'm not trying to chase any pipe dream, I was just wondering how that aspect worked. I hear mixed reviews.

Adding a link to an article about a product I am trying to sell I feel gives the reader value. I'm thinking it would help convert more sales if the product was talked abut with a more credible mainstream source. Am I wrong for viewing it this way?

I've never heard the phrase "Link Juice" before so thanks for that as I can research it more and get a better understanding of it.

Are there any other type of Slang terms I should research more? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It passes the link juice and you can get the benefit of it therefor you have to add relevant and high quality sites only because search engine like Google don't like irrelevancy.
